  1. These all look a little large for what im after. Its only for 20-40 yard shots with the rimmy.
  2. Keep on trying mate. Get some posts up of your exploits with your airgun too. If people read them, and see your having a go anddoing your best they are more prone to help you. good luck
  3. I think i asked this question last year but never got round to buying one, but i want / need one before the nights draw in so.... Which is the best small gun mounted lamp out there? There is the tracer stinger, madjack verminator and loads of others on fleabay classed as tactical gun lights. Normal bulbs, led bulbs and loads of different volt powers. can i have some feedback from someone who has bought one, pro's and con's etc Ive got a large handheld lamp, which im happy with, and yes it can be mounted to a gun but i want a "small" one just for the rimmy. thanks
  4. Landed myself some massive permission today, long story but we are talking thousands of acres of quality land and its only 20 mins away. Had a look up this morning and shot 30+ rabbits plus about half that again that were sat at the warren holes and managed to die underground. ( ive got to get the numbers down asap so i need to shoot on sight as soon as i see one, ethically wrong but horses for courses) There are hundreds of rabbits, seriously, so it looks like its rabbit pie for some time to come! I usually charge £12-15 an hour for my time, or a pound a rabbit, but there is a story behind
  5. i would have snapped your hand off if you were closer, im desperate for a good working ferret at the moment.
  6. Ive got three huge pieces of bamboo for sale. They are as thick as your calf and about 8-10 feet long. Will look really nice in a garden. No delivery. £20
  7. I did the bpca part1 at a uni somewhere i cant remember. It was harder for me because i dont really do insects and the like so with a lot of questions on flys, cockroaches etc i didnt think i would pass, but i did
  8. Ive got the jet z on my .223, It cost the best part of £300 but is worth every penny.
  9. I for one loved ds's posts. He had a knack of writing that kept you glued to his posts. One of the good guys.
  10. I read somewhere that years ago in canada (i think) there was hunters dying of malnutrition on a diet of rabbit, and the wives didnt realise and where giving them more rabbit to eat, making the problem worse. That said, its a great, cheap and tasty protein and integrated into todays diet its only going to do you good.
  11. Bad news that. He went off the rails a year or so ago, drinking heavily and just bumming around, but got his act together just lately which makes it more ironic and twice as sad. Good fighter in his prime, a bit like samson i thought- with long hair he was great, got it cut and it went downhill. RIP

    Scales ?

I prefer the "sweet shop" style ones. Quickly adapted they work a treat.
  13. Ive had a list of things that i wanted to do for ages now. Over the years ive steadily knocked them off. There have been some good ones like firing a 44magnum, and getting a ak47 pointed at me in anger (that wasnt something that i wanted to happen, but when it did it was the scariest thing ever so i put it on my list anyway). Ive got others like getting letters after my name and ive been writing a book now about squirrel hawking which ive just published ( its only a thin paperback as im in the process of writing a large hardback about squirreling and want that to be the main one), ive also pai
  14. Move the traps around a bit more D-n-N,... Maybe rest the field for a few days, then go in 'armed and dangerous' As trappa so rightly says,.there WILL be more moles All the best,..CHALKWARREN... Thats the wierd thing.... the field is now bare Its been a few weeks since harrowing now and theres nowt fresh I will just keep an eye on it and let you know if more appear. Cheers all for the help Baffled me that one. Its hard to work things out without seeing it firsthand, but i would be very surprised if one mole caused hundreds of molehills, and caused the field to be as black a

The film was dissapointing after the books. Loved the bit in chopper 2 where he said he was in a pub and surrounded so had to do something impressive to stop him getting a kicking so he grabbed a lad, thumbed his eye out , then swallowed it!

Chopper was the maddest bas*ard ive ever read about. What a fuc*ing nutcase! Chopper 1 and 2 are "must haves"
  17. That looks like a decent old one stu, proper cast iron quality. Huntergatherer, im looking again so if i find a good source i will let you know. TRhe one i bought looked very much like stu's but was made from a "cast" metal that was crap, and was uber low quality, its the one thats on ebay now being sold by loads of sellers. AVOID!!
  18. Sometimes you will find that if the field is as black as you say it is, there WILL be more moles, but as the field is already like a labyrinth of hundreds of tunnels, they dont really need to dig more tunnels (the cause of molehills) therefore there wont look like there is much activity on the surface when in fact there is still quite a bit.
  19. It depends what your wanting to do with it. Redtails are commonly flown to start in america but the difference between their passagers and our eyasses can be like night and day. Common buzards are a poor starter bird as they wont catch much and people often sell them within months because of this. Kestrels too wont catch nothing of interest and are too small to start with, 1 mistake and its dead. Dont even think about a shortwing! If you are just dissing the harris because you want something different then i would say your attitude is totally wrong. Harrises are the best starter bir
  20. That was a fast trap there mate, i cant compete with that!!!!! I think if you catch them in the right place they make a run for it when you lay the trap. Well done. Bloody foxes! Ive lost a few to them but not too many, touch wood. It looks like its time to get the bangstick out!
  21. Hey foxyjo, chicken of.... is a really tasty fungi, and really easy to recognise too. I like to think of my self as a bit of a mycophile but havent got the balls to taste most of the stuff. They all seem to have one thats very similar but poisonous. Maybe one day i'll be brave enough to try them all but until then i will stick to the ones i know. Horn of plenty is a really tasty one, as are penny buns.
  22. Fried puffball and scrambled egg, cant wait till morning!
  23. Hope it all goes well sue, keep us informed.
