  1. If they are the cheap ones you will get a pound each i would think. If they are the high quality ones you should get £3 each. The thing is you will need to be lucky and sell to someone starting up or sell in batches probably. They may be worth 4 or 5 pounds each to buy but there isnt many who have a couple of grand sat there, and if they do they tend to buy from a Known seller as when you buy lots you can get freebies.
  2. Rich, im not having a go-honest. What is the reason you think that the bird is overweight? is it unresponsive, simply larger than last season, have you felt her breastbone and she is fat-what? Let us know what the crack is and we can do our best to help you. ps, 1lb 9 is small for a female bud, not impossible but it is small. chances are its a male if it hasnt been dna tested.
  3. Come on richy, this thread is going nowhere fast. Tell us in detail what the crack is and we WILL help mate.
  4. As stated above. Was out shooting the other day and spent 5 minutes with a green woodpecker in my scopes as it sat in the middle of a field digging for something, presuming it was worms he was after. Anyone?
  5. sad to hear that john. hope you rest in peace.
  6. I think last week when i posted complaining about the harvest i must have just followed someone who beat me to them! been out again today and got loads, so guess whats for tea again! yep, a+b crumble I only wandered along about a 1 mile stretch of hedge and found, apart from the fruit, one handbag which was empty , and the remains of 2 deer (head and skin) somebody has been a naughty boy. Anyway, it beats going to tesco for their fancy exotic fruits, give me brambles anyday!!
  7. Feed it less and fly it harder. This is a general rule but cant just be generalised over a computer. Nutritional value of foodstuff comes into it bigtime as well. If you were to give a detailed topic of your problem rather than simply saying "how do you get a harris to lose weight" it would be a lot better as it is dangerous to say simply"feed it less" when it might not actually be overweight to begin with!

  9. Excellent mate. What a cracking little fella youve got there In the photo it looks like your flying with mews jessies but im sure its just the camera. What a great weight 1lb 9, its open for loads of different quarry there! and a mallard first flight!!!! Back of the net! Youve got to put the time in with a gos, but by christ its worth it! genuinely pleased for you mate, really.
  10. Ive got a bipod on my .223 but i just bought one of those adjustable bipod cum walking stick things for my rimmy and its absolutely brilliant. Its like having a portable fence to lean on constantly in front of you!! recommended.
  11. There was a few sloes but not many, prob a little too early for them. I think it might just be round me thats not great for brambles OR maybe someone else was picking them an hour before me?!? who knows.
  12. Maybe its just here then. The little hob i got from you is a cracker ko shamo. I havent got him working yet, but he is a funny little character. cheers
  13. I was ferreting a spot at the weekend that i never tried before and i dont think anyone else has either, ive only shot there recently. Anyway, we slipped the ferret in and the biggest rabbits ive ever seen were coming out! We only got 6 but me and my mate were just laughing at the size of them, they werent that much smaller than hares! Anyone else had ultra large rabbits? i shoot lots every week so i know what a large rabbit is, but these were taking the pi*s. My camera is bust or i would have took some photos.
  14. Was out brambling yesterday. This time last year i had loads of brambles but this year really poor so far. Anyone else been brambling? any thoughts? i dont know whether its a poor year or the season is a little slower coming to fruition than last year. time will tell i suppose. Anyway, its bramble and apple crumble for tea! i would post a pic but my camera bust on holiday. Its a shame as my a+b crumble is to die for!!
  15. Yes.....a fat bloke in the pub said so.

    Women

Give her a slice of wedding cake and she will turn it into 5 stone of fat.
  17. Beautiful bird mate. Really good looker. Im hoping to get back at it with next years young ones, and with pics like that it doesnt half put you in the mood. What is her flying weight proper?
  18. I will lose sleep tonight..........fecking laughing! Come on cjw , you must be having a laugh. I'd never heard of it before so i had a quick flick on youtube. I only listened to 5 minutes mind. The voice said that some of his predictions were so accurate they couldnt be guesses! then went on to say "pope john paul the 2nd was known as the sailor pope" and , wait for it........before he became the pope he was THE PATRIACH OF VENICE!!! I think that says it all really. That is so uncanny i nearly peed my pants..........laughing.
  19. Its a handy time to let them get their new plumage. In the summer there is usually too much cover on the trees and plants to see much, and the quarry are young. Not ideal and gives fuel to the tree huggers.
  20. !!!Feck me!!! You must be doctor dolittle! Youve caught a wild polecat and it is ok to handle! Very interested to read the updates, keep us informed. ps the fenn traps would have killed it, it was probably caught in a live trap. Good luck, trappa
  21. Whats the history, Have you got a harris now,why do you want a different bird.
  22. If the trigger mehanism works then you should have no problems either way, squirrels are easy to trap.
  23. It couldnt have come at a better time actually. Ive just been to florida for my hols (lucky there as well-we went with xl airways , came back on the monday they went bust 2 days later) but the last farm i got permission on, the one ive been geting loads of rabbits on lately, has been ravaged by mixy. I got there at 8.50 this morning and the farmers dad said that theyve all got mixy. i thought he was exagurating but i was home for 10!! i shot 4 rabbits, thats all. Didnt realise it could hit so hard!, just under 3 weeks was all it took and its like the proverbial ghost town!
  24. As far as im aware as long as it is the european rabbit (oractylus cunnilingus or something) its fine. Like its been said, if its got mixy its illegal though.
