  1. No i havent mate. If i find some i will give them a try. At 20 squid a box i will try anything!!! lol Like i say, im going to be reloading , woz got me the gear and is willing to help me over the phone, plus i know a lad who loads his own who can show me, but i will be getting myself a corner of the garage specifically to do this, but we just sold our "static-ish" caravan and all the gear that was inside it is in the garage and you cant swing a cat in there at the moment.
  2. Thanks bobo,Would i just take the photo and tell them the crack or would they need to see her?
  3. Ive got a nicko sterling nighteater 8-32 x 44. Well inside your budget, and a nice scope as well. Not a world beater, but ive got it on my 223 foxing rifle and im happy with it.
  4. They are fecking expensive lads, 20 bullets = £20 !!!!!!!! Thats why its only brought out for fox or certain situations. I wouldnt use it for rabbit unless im getting paid.
  5. Remington accutip 50gr mate. My gun is only fussy about what he eats (i am half way through getting myself sorted reloading with the help of woz on here) and ive tried plenty of different ammo but these remmy accutips go lovely with the rifle.
  6. Thanks lapin. I try to stick some photos up when possible, it makes the forum more enjoyable, but now and again i wonder why i bother. cheers mate
  7. I dont know what your implying poacher but i dont shoot rabbit for sport, i do it as a job. If someone phones me up to kill some rabbits i do just that, whether they are young, old, shot or ferreted. I do eat around % of all the rabbits i shoot but today i neeeded to down some that i couldnt get close to so had to bring out the higher calibre rifle, which through no fault of my own, totally destroys them. If your implying that i shot them just for the fun of it, nothing could be further from the truth, though i must confess i did find it highly entertaining.
  8. Ive been going to my usual haunts very regular lately with my 22lr and have been knocking rabbits down up to distances of around 70 yards, hit and miss any further. One particular area im not able to get to within 90-100 yards without them seeing me and scarpering so decided to get my .223 out to wipe some of this lot out. They didnt know what hit them! I took 2 packs of 20 bullets and used nearly all of them, with a 100% kill ratio today at distances varying from 60 yards to around 150 yards -very happy! My sights were not absolutely bang on, i knew this, so i was just going for body shots,
  9. One of my chickens has developed a poorly eye. I say its developed as i dont believe i would have missed this when i picked them up. She is fine in herself -eating, laying and doing those normal chickeny things, but has one eye shut and directly below the eye it is ever so slightly swollen. Should i give medication of some kind , seek vetinary advice or leave it a bit as she seems to be fine apart from this.
  10. Any of you lot had any experience with this pump action? It looks a nice gun and im fancying getting one for rough shooting. I know its a poor make but was just wanting some first hand experience. The semi auto had trouble cycling light rounds but am i right in thinking the pump will not be troubled by this? any info gratefully accepted. cheers
  11. Im getting plenty work. Moles and rabbits are my main work and there is plenty of both out there. Im not so busy with rodents and dont do much in the way of insects barring wasps, but thats summer.
  12. Yes mate, im a bit of an amateur fungi-phile. I love chicken of..., one of the good ones! I have about a dozen fungi i eat from the wild, havent got the balls to try the stuff im not 100% sure of! I need to be able to definatly identify - im too young and good looking to poison myself! oyster mushrooms are easy, as are morels, penny buns and horn of plenty is nice in stews etc . look out for them!!
  13. No mate, it will grow on different tree's.
  14. Thats dirt cheap mate. Someone local will get a bargain there!
  15. Looking for a cheap gloria? emphasis on cheap.
  16. Woke up yesterday morning and my pointer pup (well he's 6 months) had managed to pull the deep fat fryer down from the bench and had ate ALL the congealed fat from it  He had then proceeded to sh*t big squirts of fatty sh*te out around the kitchen floor. Not what you want to see on a morning! He hasnt eaten much since, though he is starting to pick up. Anything i should be looking out for?
  17. Thanks a lot lads. Some good ideas on here too! I wont let them beat me, its just a pisser when you watch the shoots grow over the weeks then some tosser just throws them to the floor for the hell of it.
  18. There are some really arsehole families around here- druggies etc. Its not just my garden, they ransacked the lot. They only got crap as no-one bothers to keep anything of value here. MIght give one of those alarms a go tho!
  19. Last night my allotment was broken into again! Really pissed off. They pinched a load of hand tools, worth nothing really, but they then smashed the place up, knocking all my potted plants to the floor. My turnips and cabbages were all coming through nicely and the lot is now ruined! Police came round but dont hold much hope of catching them.
  20. I had a closed 22lr. After less than a year of holding fac requested a .223 and it came back granted, with both open. Well pleased!
  21. Where are you? if this is still for sale come payday i may buy it. Payed on 25th Im looking for a larger cabinet, am going to check prices of new ones now. cheers
  22. Excellent news! Everyone remembers their first egg! lol
  23. a keeper i know keeps the same magpie and has had it for years. I always thought it would make sense to use the one you just caught and cull the call bird etc etc but he keeps the same bird and has had it for ages now. Hope this helps
  24. Ye i saw that, i got a sack of corn and a sack of pellets but just not sure of how much each bird will eat while locked in. cheers
