  1. For cheapness a bamboo stick, cut at req depth for whichever field your in (1ft , 2ft etc) with coloured tape wrapped round top.
  2. Looks a good day out! well done
  3. Im well pleased with mine too. Who are the "models"? i would love to know. I recognise 2 or 3 but would like to kno the others. trappa
  4. I saw a dancing bear in Bulgaria about 10years ago. Some gypos were bringing it round the tourist spots. Even then they got loads of shit from people. They were claiming it to be hungry and needed money for food. We were laughing as a group of jocks were giving them loads of abuse telling them to feed the fecking dog they had with them to it!
  5. Mate, you need to read up on the subject. This way you can ask more specific questions. Asking which birds will take munties will only bring you hassle. HH or RTs are the usual to start with, both have pros and cons. Get reading!

  7. Jap onions mate. I just planted a few rows last week.
  8. Its a massive commitment so you need to get one for the right reasons. Buy some books and take your time with them.
  9. Get yourself some books for christmas and have a good read through them, they will give you a good insight plus you can use them for reference when you do get a bird. Your doing the right thing by asking questions, jumping in and buying one before you know about them would be a big mistake.
  10. He has helped me a couple of times too. He is a top bloke and a credit to the site.
  11. You need to get on some courses mate. I was the same as you, flying hawks and ferreting to start with and decided to get into pest control to do a job i "liked". I went on a few courses and eventually did the BPCA pt1 about 2003/4 which cost nearly a grand. Not good. Ive got a small pest control business now that makes a decent profit but the hawking and ferreting take a back seat really in nearly all circumstances, its usually rodents and wasps for the majority. My business is aimed at the agricultural side so i do get to do more of the things i like to do than most, but even then its aw
  12. Larry, this isnt what im wanting, my daughter wants a totally different style. Real sorry for messing you , really am. Apologies and good luck, it looks a great phone and a great price. Once again, apologies, trappa
  13. I personally would be there with a .22 rimmy and sort the problem. The pitch owners wont be none the wiser as its whisper quiet and if you can set yourself up properly and they are used to people being in a built up area you should be able to get pretty close. Other than that your limited to, like the other lad said and "go to the source of the problem" and eradicate them.
  14. If your not happy about setting traps or poison specifically for mice as well then your pretty limited to be honest. Sticky boards would be dodgy set outside. Better get on to your FAO and tell him you want mice putting on your .223 licence.
  15. Now mate. Firstly it is A LOT of fun but its not without its risks. The first time i tried it i was an inch off losing my bird. I was flying my harris successfully at plenty of quarry and she was shit hot. I like you have done plenty lamping so i decided to put two and two together and lamp with my bird, the whole night was a disaster. I had bought those little flashers from fleabay that you put on the jessies but got to my flying ground and the back had cam off so i had lost the battery. I was with my bro-in-law and his lad so i thought i would carry on regardless. The first rabbit we saw i
  16. Thanks lads. I thought they would just lay 2 or 3 a week instead of everyday through winter. If this is normal i will just leave them.
  17. I had a bit of a move around about 2 months ago, which involved me catching my hi-sex hens and moving them to another enclosure.Obviously this involved me running around chasing them and upsetting them but it was only for 20 mins or so. My 6 hi-sex that i moved, and the 3 light sussex have been laying okay (ish) since but i havent had 1 egg from a maran since and its been too long now. Any tips or help?
  18. 70% of my work is moles, 100% this time of year. Living in a very rural area helps. I could work 24 hrs a day 7 days a week from september to february but trapping on agricultural land isnt fun, its feckin hard work and when the winter comes its nearly broke me a couple of times!
  19. im in manchester next weekend but moling will be the last thing on my mind. UFC 105, bring it on!
  20. If i ever caught anyone doing anything to my kids like that and i caught them i would bite their noses off then snap both arms. Not an idle threat.
  21. I think you did the right thing in being truthful. In all honesty i would get a pro in. From everything from using the correct traps and setting them right, down to having the correct public liability insurance , it makes sense to do it properly and that means getting someone in who knows moles.
  22. Steve, no you didnt email me but yes i got the two sample traps, really appreciated it, a nice touch. Like you say, the size difference is negligable unless you set them and stand them together. I really like this little trap, its size and weight mean you can carry any number with you no problem. I doubt there will ever be a mole trap that will suit all soil types and all runs perfectly, i , like the majority of most trappers prefer certain traps for certain conditions, but these traps certainly do have a place in mole trapping here in britain and i would recommend trappers here to purchase s
  23. Just thought id give some unbiased feedback on these traps i purchased from our own steve albanos ebay shop. Ive been using these for a couple of weeks now. Ive been moling on lots of different ground with them , trying them here and there. They were delivered very fast, and i was surprised how small and light they are. When i first got them i thought that maybe the american moles were smaller than ours, and these traps wouldnt kill our british mole. This was wrong, once you set it up and trigger it they pack a punch. They arent designed for loose soil, but come into their own on grass and
