My bitch had her pups 3 weeks ago and now, Well I kept her and her sister in 3 weeks befor, she had them till now, because of the threat of canine herpes and the effect it can have on a litter but now they are three weeks old and can control and raise there own body temperature they have a better chance of fighting it off should they come in contact with it, was nearly ready to take mum and sister out to there favourite place the woods used to going 3 times a day and started to read up on parvo, distemper ,ect, and I know pups get a certain amount of immunitity from the bitch, but pups cant be

infrared heat lamps for dogs

Got a lamp for me bitch she's just had 5 pups, from a poultry shop, ( www.chicken-house.co.uk ) so I thought worth getting a rotary dimmer switch plugs into a socket them plug in your heat lamp this allows a bit of heat control and I just put a thermometer low down on the wall just to see I ain't toastering them, no good making it so hot the injured dog or bitch and pups have to move from the heat source so worth knowing the temp. hope this is helpfull twins -

Good cheap log splitter look in the screwfix catalouge £6.00 or less can't remember ,but it's called a log grenade sit it on the end grain of a log in the middle hit with a club hammer and see the damage done splits log into smaller section easy to split with a axe, easer if logs are cut to the lenth that fit your burner, split air dry, I cut my logs with a rip hand saw when they are still wet 4 teeth to the inch, or dry with a log bow saw. hope this helps. twins -
I fitted a charwood country wood burner brilliant, got a new flue liner good idear to get a stove pipe thermometer to see what temp your burning at to low and you don't burn off the creasote this is what starts chimney fires, to hot this burns out your liner, so knowing the temp is a good idear, good to look at what wood to burn, and to start your fire with to get heat quicker this get good thermals going in the flue, I teach carpentry and joinery at a college and can get my hands on all the soft wood cut up by our technicians this is perfect to start with.
