  1. I remember when i got my first ferret from a guy down the road from me [1979 was the year] and it cost me a fiver, a little jill and she was worth every penny, i had many a good days ferreting with just the one ferret and about a dozen nets.

  3. 2 albino jills,5 polecat jills,3 polecat hobs, 2 polecat hob kits and 2 polecat jill kits
  4. 3 was the smallest litter my jill had and 14 the largest

  7. I got a very small jill last year from a mate, she is due to have her kits on sunday.

    I asked the same question a few months ago everybody said get the hi-viz........... easily seen especially if you leave it on the ground, like i often do
  9. Try here mate [blackdogtrading@btinternet.com ] i got 2 from this guy a few weeks ago for my ferret finder mk 3 , good quality leather[ask for the thicker leather collars] not the thin ones he makes

    How long?

    It takes me about an hour to knit a net 20 meshes long x 20 meshes wide including adding the cord and peg.

  13. Got a couple of terriers[a tiny jack russell and a border] they don't mark the holes but they try their damdest to get into the burrows so i keep them coupled[there is also a lot of foxes on this farm]
  14. Yes the collar was one of the new MK3 Deben things, i've changed it over to leather ones now looks like a better fit.

I feel a right plonker this evening went out with the ferrets for a couple of hours this morning, Ist holes the smallest of my jills slips her collar[dig down to locate] then the next few holes bolt 7 yes 7 and get none from holes i had not seen on the other side of the hedge everything just seemed to go wrong, anybody else done worse than that before.............. i feel a right tit lol

Went out this morning at a new bit of permission ferreted for 4 hours along a hedge, ma head is cut and scratched with the thorns and i'm all stung with nettles and ended up with 2 bunnies, but i enjoyed it all the same, had my 7 year old grandson with me for his 1st outing He expected rabbits at every hole and he wants to come next time so maybe he's got the ferreting bug as well lol
  18. Mk 3 hi-viz arrived this morning, will be trying it tomorrow any tips on how to use i think i'm stupid lol
  19. Ok thanks I will go for orange to match my selection of multi coloured spun nylon nets i've made lol/hope the bunnies don't mind yellow/red and black nets
  20. Going to get myself a mark 3 this week, just wondering what is the most popular colour orange or grey what would you guys and girls recommend
  21. I got some red from Bridport this morning, knitted a couple of nets tonight great stuff recommended
  22. Was ferreting the local golf course and came across a couple bonking in the bushes they BOLTED when they saw me lol
  23. Earlier on this year a mate borrowed a young albino hob from me to lend to a pal of his to breed with his 2 jill's, he put the hob in with the jills at night and next morning the hob was dead[bitten around the neck by the jills] has anyone ever had or heard of jills killing a hob before.
