Yes i used to keep them,and the first time i bred them it was amazing to see[the bubble nest and the tiny fry] the male looks after the eggs and fry and any that fall out of the nest he lifts them and puts them back in.
i work both hobs and jills,the only downside to working the hobs is that they sometimes get stuck in the purse nets,and that they are a bit slower through the warrens
I like to knit my nets with hemp as i find it doesn't stretch the same as nylon and spun nylon, hemp is what i learned with at school, [the teacher was a ferreter]
my jill had a litter of 6 kits [2 hobs and 4 jills] here they are at 11 days old, all are going to working homes except a hob who is going to a lady as a pet and he will get a lot of pampering i can tell you.
I've tried to leave jills together in the past and the kits have been eaten, so i wouldn't recommend it, but i'm sure someone will have succeeded, i think when jill's are having kit's it's best to give the jill's a cage each.
