  4. no lamping,its illegal.the government say its not safe to shoot of a night. which is a load of bollocks,they are really anally retentive about hunters poaching the deer,moose and elk.
  5. where in canada? you realise this is going to cost you a serious amount of cash? i have a friend who is an outfitter(you can only hunt with one) and he charges around $2500 canadian he operates a good setup with plenty of deer. whitetail deer hunting here in saskatchewan comes with a cost as the deer can be big bucks. the season here starts around 2nd nov til 6 december for outfitters here is a basic outline of the regs and price of the deer tag(this should be included in the outfitters costs) http://publications.gov.sk.ca/documents/66/93283-2016%20Hunters%20and%20Trappers%20G

  7. i just bought these irish setter 'elk tracker' boots. not sure if they are available back in blighty. these are gortex lined with 1000gram of thinsulate. from all the boot reviews i read,these are supposed to be the dogs danglys. price in cables is $360 canadian,some places in the states charge $185 us
  8. well since my move to canada,hunting has improved for the table fare. we have a serious problem with wild boars.these things are the hardest damn thing i have ever hunted. here is a few pics of what i have plugged this was good eating,prime weight of around 150lbs shot this 80lber then 15 mins later dropped a nice 4 point whitetail i shot this sow,she weighed in over 350lbs.i thought she was a baby boar because she was next to a 500lb boar rifle is a VZ58 in 7.62x39.this is my goto pig rifle as it tends to drop em right there.i was using a 223 but i was getting too many r
  9. an ex pat now living in the frozen north of canada. i did a fair bit of hunting with a fell pack and always enjoyed the terriers going down. did my fair share of lamping for foxes also,something i miss dearly here in canada as only damn day hunting is allowed. anyways,hello
