ok headed back down tonight to meet up with a friends friend who has a bull elk tag. bull elk season opens up 6am friday 15th sept. so we ripped down to change the card to see whats on it and do a fair bit of scouting in the area for him. seen one spiker bull on his own,i am thinking it was the one from a week ago on the cam. found a few tracks were the elk had cross a gravel road. drove down the gravel road a bit further and bingo........Mr 6x6 bull elk and his Ho's in the alfalfa field. not sure WTF went on but they did a runner through two fields and back into the bush. mate is head -

good luck on that then LOL how big an area is the hunt ? the herds in canada roam for hundreds of square miles, Zero chance without a vehicle or horse i would have to check the hunting regs but i am sure you cant carry a damn rifle on anything apart from your shoulder Surely you can find the herd from a horse or quad .and then hunt on foot from there Also your going to need to pack out a 1 ton plus animal No easy task with a vehicle a mile away. No chance with no vehicle or horse The wet skin of a bison alone is 2 hundred pounds plus page 102 of the arizona hunting r

a bloke walks into a bar and asks for a vodka and orange bartender puts an apple down in front of him the bloke says 'i wanted a vodka and orange not an apple' the bartender says 'take a bite from the apple' the bloke takes a bite and its taste of vodka the bartender says 'turn the apple around and take another bite' the bloke does and he says it taste of orange. the bloke has a think and asks for a rum and coke again the bartender puts an apple down in front of him. he takes a bite and its tastes of rum,he turns the apple around and takes another bite and its tastes of coke. the bartender

extraction will be quad for now. i was hoping the farmer would swarth his crop in the next field and we could get a truck to there. when the winter comes and depending on how much snow we get,who knows whats going to be our plan. a sled would be the only option as the nearest road is nearly 2 miles away -

generally there is no bears in this area, but one was spotted about 4 miles north west.this is unusual i understand what you are saying,i hunted for many years in the UK and this never happened apart from throwing grain down for ducks.this is a common setup around these parts to get game coming to the bait.some 'hunters' just drive the side roads all day waiting for the deer to cross the roads, this is bad form. there is one big 'monster' buck in this bush(he didnt get plugged last year),i have 2 pics of him from last year.big bucks dont tend to move out of the bush, hence why they get so -

ok i gathered up some free bait from a neighbour so i ripped down to the spot to dump it off and change out the sd card and set the time/date correctly this time. here are a selection of 253 pics off the card. i am quite taken back by the elk showing up.i know the herd is close by but wasnt expecting to see so many.it is dryer than hell here so they must using this game trail to get to the swamp for water. bull elk season opens up this friday,i dont have a tag but a friend does,so he might get lucky here at my bait site. still no wild boar showing up yet.they are in this piece of b -
so i am an ex pat living in sask canada. the hunting here is excellent and i thought i would start my own thread of what i normally get up to every hunting season and throughout the damn fckn freeing winters. i and a mate set up a tree stand last week in a thick bush sloughy swamp. in here are moose, elk, whitetail deer and wild boars. the boars being are target species but we will be plugging deer and elk( we have licenses to shoot either, dont ask as it too damn complicated to hunting back in the UK) LOL right some piccys of tree stand, bait barrel and bait.i have just been back down
-
wild boars are my key quarry. i have just set up my tree stand, camera and dropped down 300lb of apples. wild boar have been quite an hunting experience.i had one sow think about charging me,so she got plugged and i had one stripey baby go to attack me after i had shot it. if things go alreet this coming few months i will start my own thread. i have got drawn for cow elk this year also. a whitetail will also be plugged for the freezer

Size Comparison Usa Vs. Europe...
Ted Newgent replied to Dan McDonough's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Canada is goofy as hell about gun laws. Over here you can shoot whatever you please in all of the states that matter to a hunter. I wouldn't go East of the Mississippi River if you can help it though. It's not bad over there but there's less people and more room up North or out West. Canada's gun laws are a shame. The canucks are great people, and they do well hunting. But they go through heck to buy a rifle and you can forget a hand gun. I could go buy another pistol (like I need another one) tomorrow. In general, I'd say the hunting is better in the east. Especially deer, and -
