cheers Ted I was pleased with him ,not a bad buck for public land in BC. I got him near grand forks bc on the first morning of my hunt in a area i had never hunted before, within 20 mins of first light. A guy drove up the trail when i was dragging the deer to the truck, He said he had been hunting the area for a few days with no luck. I was in the right place at the right time. If you cant be good be lucky LOL

Where did you get that Gav ? what was its live weight ? the muley was about 350# he was a huge bodied deer guarding 4 does, when i shot him. the whitey was about 200# both were shot on public land
-
i got the skulls ready made you just have to screw the antlers to the skulls they come with 2 inserts a large and a small, the large is attached to the muley and the small is attached to the whitey antlers

i first started out with a mathews switchback compound bow, and now i mainly shoot traditional bows. theres lots of bows that will do the job fine. bowtech, mathews ,hoyt ,pse are all good
-
not in canada its illegal in alaska you can, but you really need to practice. with your bow and then you shouldnt need a pistol. personally i feel safer with a bow than a pistol. i would rather carry pepper spray than a hand gun, not easy shooting live stuff with a pistol I could never shoot well with a hand gun its the double trigger thing !

when i first got into bowhunting in canada, i tried to carry a rifle also, it doesnt work ! you cant shoot a bow and hold a rifle at the same time it throws your balance. so i stopped taking a gun success soon followed .

ive shot bears with a .375hh, blew there lungs and heart right out, and you still wonder at the shot if you missed or not ,they rarely drop to the shot.they have a really slow heart rate and tend to stay on there feet for a while not for everyone, but like all predators they need controlling

some people have to drive for hours in N America and canada to bow hunt, we can bowhunt in france in not much time, so its not all bad, you just have to make the effort to go

most stalkers prefer to take out novices, because then they can tell you, how great they are, and the novices dont know any better LOL

it turns out all my 3 dogs had a stomache bug. one after the other they got it, not sure what caused it ? maybe my wifes cooking LOL
-
what moulds did you try ? i make loads with mine in quick time, 8 at a time i make shot gun slugs with a lee mould but a 2 shot mould would take to long for catty ammo

Reality of global warming for apex predator
DanielG replied to THE STIFFMEISTER's topic in General Talk
I spoke to a canadian part time game warden about 5 years ago,he purchased a gun i was selling. he used to work up in arctic canada, during the caribou migration, the locals used to get bored and blast hundreds of them, and just leave em to rot. they were already allowed 6 caribou per person per year, and they get to 600lb ,so with a family of 6 thats 36 caribou. anyway he was talking about global warming and i asked his opinion he wreckoned it was still fucin cold up there lol He said the polar bear numbers were as high as ever. -
very nice fox congrats
