Terrier work in the USA - Photos and Stories.
SheepChaser replied to SheepChaser's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
How come there are so many experts on American terrier work..... that have never been. Im genuinely curious. Because I’d like to know more about it, what they require in a dog and why, how the quarry and places differ and stuff like that. Shouting at people on the internet is boring and doesn’t achieve anything. -

Ummmm I believe if you look ...... it was me who started this party. You lot go round and round and round, same shit over and over, you’re not getting anywhere and no one cares. Insanity - doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. But you guys are doing a real great job of emulating the wider great British terrier scene - a little bit of dog work, lots of internet talk, a good smattering of lying, cheating, dog peddling, dog theft, bull shit, bickering and general nonsense. You got it nailed guys. -

Do you guys ever find yourself at parties and like suddenly you realise it’s just you and everyone else has gone home? -

If you’re sending those types about, I’ll add my name to the list...... I fecking hate digging. I’ve spent a long time looking for one of those jackers everyone keeps talking about that will go in for a bit and if it won’t bolt come out. Way more useful to a mooching Lurcher man than a ‘proper’ terrier. -

Very easy to be an expert on the internet ain’t it. It’s where hero’s are made and legends born. -

Would be a logical choice when cutting wood .......would it not ? -
I’m so pleased that his blood is about, just a shame there’s not more. If I had a time machine I would go back in time and stick him across a half x bull/grey ?

Ended up with a sudden team expansion this weekend. Firstly a couple of mates come down for a visit and one had to free up a little kennel space for a few weeks so left his springer dog with me on Saturday, and then on Sunday I ended up with a terrier due to the kindness of a soft hearted man ? Anyway, had an hour in between jobs today and decided we needed a little bit of team bonding time, so took the two of them, along with two of my collies out for a mooch. Never has the terrier off lead before, and he’s a bit of an unknown quantity, and as it was first time out with the spaniel

How’s about not filling a half decent thread with drivel?
-
Seven years ago ....... and I’ve still got the bloody mink in the freezer. Any more stories lads?

I’m the same mate

This is a terrible photo of her as a pup. But it just shows you how little she looks like what most people think when you say collie
-
I do like your springer x. ive seen some very handy collie x springers and labs also

The lad has a point though. I used to spend a bit of time on here about ten years ago, for a couple of years. There were a lot of members who posted photos, wrote ups of days out, and there were some interesting threads. Eventually the piss taking, arguing, banter, wind ups, fishing and other general bollocks got to the level where none of those folk bothered posting anymore, everyone left. Now it’s not a hunting site anymore. It’s just pages and pages of shit banter.

Depends on the shoot I would say lol

Do you dig them or was that above ground?
-
Wasn’t a dig mate, just an observation. We kind of get it with coursing dogs. But it’s pretty much just the odd legendary (or wannabe legendary) dogs and dog men. A line is a thing, but for a line, you got to have time. Otherwise it’s just a dog. But anyway, what quarry Do you have ? And what kind of terrain? Any photos ?
-
Alright mate, you don’t like him, we get it. But ffs get over it, get a vodoo doll or something. This level of weird obsession is worrying. And we just want to talk about dogs, not listen to you’re TED talk about this guy. We get it already.
