  1. Have you thought of speaking to someone like Gamic? They custom make canopies, boxes, truck backs etc.
  2. I will say it again, we've got bunch of folk here, arguing about something, while speaking a different language.
  3. Part of the problem is people are all talking about different things.
  4. Oh lads .... best beef I’ve eaten
  5. A dog that tries its heart out, no matter how much the odds are stacked against it, is a wonderful thing to behold. They usually surprise you!
  6. I see what you’re saying to a point, but more game may make them easier but there’s a level of commitment. A dog choosing what it runs isn’t quite the same as often they simply don’t know the facts - ie is the field rabbit fenced, where it’s going to run etc.
  7. So it’s still running them hard just not putting in the strike? I’d probably give it the summer and have another crack next year if it’s a young dog. Any reason it might have jacked? Ie a bad experience ?
  8. Whatever way you dress it up, whilst it’s impressive to see a dog winkle out the odd one when it’s hard work, especially day time hunting...... you never get to see what’s at the end of the slip, until you put good numbers of game in front of it. As much as some can knock that attitude, if those folk didn’t exist, with whatever their chosen quarry, the general standard of Lurchers would continue to decline!
  9. I’m pretty sure I’ve firmly said it was B above .....
  10. I’d be inclined to agree, if slipped on stuff a long way off, right on edge of cover etc and still killed it. But some dogs know their capabilities ..... a heavy type dog, with a pre ban roe a few hundred meters off, flat out, heading for an open sided woof that it’s much closer to than the dog is to it ......... how likely is a catch?
  11. I’d always check for injury etc? How fit is the dog? Does it know what the score is etc? If it’s done it and then starts not, it may have decided it’s just not for it!
  12. I’ve got to admit I find it a little ridiculous that you’re arguing about how someone has called their dog by the ‘wrong’ name ..... I don’t see people using the words ‘coursing bull’ to try to sell litters it anything else, just as a descriptive term. It makes a lot of sense ..... Id say they would predominantly be Line bred coursing bred dog put over line bred bull x bitch. So only coursing blood one side and proper bull x Blood the other. A bull x with coursing blood ..... a coursing bull type Lurcher. They also seem to have a certain look - lots of them look similar colour e
  13. Does this happen? Really? Hear plenty folk talking about their saluki/bull/grey or bedd/bull/grey, collie/bull/grey etc A bit of bull can go a long way though, so it doesn’t take a lot to make a dog pretty bully. I think the coursing bull thing makes sense. Just coursing dog x bull x, usually out of real good coursing blood and a well tested bull x. For down here - it’s a tried and tested x that works. The ground here is tough running at times.
  14. I think it needs qualifying ? Do you mean a dog that’s been slipped, starts to run it’s quarry and then thinks no, bugger that, and comes off ...... or a dog you slip at something that’s way off and motoring for the wood and the dog doesn’t bother running it properly as it’s clearly away? I personally like a dog that will run like it believes it’s going to make a kill, every time. But it doesn’t always mean it will. Side note - my young bitch used to smash any cover at 100 miles an hour..... no matter what she could or couldn’t see was in front of her. She doesn’t do that
  15. I’d hazard a guess that it’s because they are a mix of good coursing blood and good bull blood? Just a total punt like .....
  16. Re there being nothing anyone can do against the police ........ well a good solicitor can. If they have you Bang to right that’s one thing, but if all they have is a poor dress sense, dog with a few explainable scars and a small knife in your bag you will be ok. The police and certainly the rspca can’t just do what they like. They just work on the basis that a lot of people will hang themselves.
  17. Simple answer is get a good solicitor.
  18. Award for most retarded post goes to ......
  19. I think some of it is just luck. Some dogs are lucky and some really aren’t!
  20. Dogs and money don’t mix well
  21. That was the evening and I’m blessed as that’s out the back of my house, and I’m surrounded by it.
