  1. There is actually currently a licensed team of beaver cullers on the prowl ..... true story ?
  2. If anyone wants a pop at a beaver I can point you in the right direction snd give you a map of dams etc ? I am soon due to have some as neighbours also .....
  3. Don’t know if it’s been said but very similar to the kiwi kennels.

    Pups

11 weeks, two dog pups. Beagle x pat.
  5. If you’re lucky you might see the one in the lake .... probably one of the best genuine hunting shots I’ve seen.
  6. Could well be mate. I’m a soft touch so usually try to get them right then find a working or pet home depending on the dog.
  7. Rural pub mate, deffo no cctv. The village is very small, maybe they pass the pub, maybe they park there. f**k knows, all I know is last two weeks I’ve picked up two coursing dogs - one hiding behind the bins with a bust toe and swollen foot, which I got right and rehomed and one with a nasty cut on its front leg, which took about ten days to catch, kept moving between folks gardens, our calving paddocks (eating the after birth) and the pub car park. Anything like that I’m always the one who gets the call and tries to get them sorted before they get shot or go to the rspca.
  8. Mate, some of these lads wouldn’t know a good dog if it bit them lol. And they don’t have proper anything in their kennel ? Some of them are just shit houses and bolt and leave the dog soon as they are anyone, some of the dogs have been stolen. Others are the usual 5 homes by 2 year old, nervy as f**k, taken straight out and run and left when it won’t come back, and the dumped ones are usually injured in some way. Trust me these ain’t coursing men, they are just muppets. Best dog I’ve had left was a pure saluki import, left running a hare in the field when the keeper drove up t
  9. Ok so here goes ....... but I don’t think we will ever get anywhere..... Do you actually know what kind of people we are discussing ? So the folk who bred the lines of my dogs, bought a dog or three off the internet, took it out, rammed a load of fences, nicked a few bits, doughnuted around the fields with their mates in three or four jeeps, maybe ran a hare or two over, then when the dog cut it’s foot, chucked it out of the motor on the way home in the nearest pub carpark and then fecked off...... interesting, I didn’t know that! I think we may well be talking about
  10. Do you actually read what you write ? Not being a dick, it at least not trying to be! But I’m not the only one who takes what you say in the way I do. No one has been talking about getting dogs / pups / linings off lads who graft them vs off lads who catch a couple rabbits a week or keep jackers. That literally was never part of this conversation. You’ve said it time and time again, that these lads are some kind of hardcore working dog heros, testing their charges to the max, bagging loads of gear and keeping the best blood lines going. That by being inclined to be an
  11. To be fair I also believe in working them hard. I just don’t think that automatically means you have to act like a c*nt or that acting like a c*nt means you’re working them hard. You can work them hard and sensibly ?
  12. Fair post. But I think maybe the issue is we are talking about different things here ...... and it’s always been so. The two things I would argue with on your post - “that is how it has to be” - does it ? If that is so, how come we get plenty of people hard at it here who don’t act like total C*nts and smash the place up, leave dead shit, run game over with the motor and dump dogs, knicking a few things as they go .......... personally although there is obviously a time when you just have to do what you need to do, to get away. But most of the lads I’m talking about, woul
  13. To be fair I thought @Mother_Mary asked a fair question .......
  14. Does make me ? ? ? when you get lads on here defending all of these f***ing muppets, as if they are the Lurcher world version of Robin Hood. Let’s be honest there is a monumental difference between a dog man and a cretin with a dog. Its not about class or anything like that. And these idiots make it a lot harder for everyone else who walks the dodgy path and jumps a few fences. We have a lovely spot local for a bit of bushing, plenty of rabbits, good cover, you don’t catch many but it’s great sport. Some of the locals have been going for years and enjoying it
  15. Not really looking to get into an argument with you, partly because I agree with some of the things you say and partly because it’s too nice a day! There are two things which you say which are correct about driving the land - firstly if done well, and in lots of areas, it puts more game on front of the dog / dogs than walking will. This isn’t always true of all areas, some are more practical to walk and some you just don’t need to drive as there’s enough game. Secondly - the ban deffo had an effect, as you say, when you’re going to lose your dogs, your liberty, get a batter
  16. People are dangerous, and stupid people are really dangerous. One phenomena of Facebook, is now people dont know what a 'friend' is, they think its someone who they've spoken to for five mins of the internet.
  17. No just saying in general. If you said to most folk my dog retrieves roe deer they’d think you were talking crap. Then pulling out a photo, there’s no arguing with that! I’ve got to admit I was a bit skeptical, I’ve had but dogs drag them and sort of walk with part in their mouth, pulling them along, but never a dog picking one up broadside like a shot rabbit. Ive seen some unusual and cool things out hunting but rarely manage to get a decent photo !
  18. I love nothing more than a man with photographic evidence to hush those who take the piss lol. Well done sir!
  19. If they scan four usually means at least six!
  20. To be fair mate, I’m sure you’ve got a decent dog or two, and I think you’re sound enough. But by feck are you rapidly hastening the buggering up of this site. You’re like a broken record and you go on and on and on and on about the same thing, all day, every day. You are extremely kennel blind, and although are very aware of the positives of saluki blooded coursing dogs, don’t seem to want to accept any of the potential negatives.
