  3. Reading through the thread I'm pretty sure I now have one of these dogs. The 2 year sounds about right he looks a lot like yours walshie. He an inch bigger at 29. He's caught me a few rabbits last season, starting to get into it as the season was finishing as I only got him in December but can't wait for new one to start

  9. spot on , yeh you right just go for a pup from proven workers , and regards coat it works both ways as in the winter a dog with good coat like my 2 dogs can take what ever the weather throws at them , but there fooked in the summer . i had a bitch lurcher x lurcher who was near enough 90% running dog just drop of collie her coat was just like greyhound but just bit thicker , she was ok in the winter , and when lamping no prob , a x i've always liked is pit x grey x whippet x saluki x grey you get good dog there not to big and run all day/night and bit of grit .

Got a dog that was a little older if I'm honest because as I say I was just starting out and at the time I was starting i new it was going to be a lot of just me and the dog out so something that already knew a bit would also help me learn. I got the dog off someone on here who was getting out the game and to be fair everything he told me about the dog was true. He just needed bringing on, still a lot to learn but he deffinatley not shy and made it a great first season. As you say it's deffo addictive.   12. Hope he comes good for you. I didn't get into the game until last year and got myself a dog who was about 16 months. Not done too much but new the basics. As I'm new to it I was out night after night with a few daytime mooches aswel and I was well happy at the end of the season with lots achieved. Can't wait for season to start again. Still go out for walks everyday but just not the same. Good luck
