I got mine today telling me about the excellent opportunities in the HGV sector and the improving pay and conditions. They must be sending them to all hgv licence holders cos I'm a driver already

It's maybe too broad a statement l mean the layabouts that are perfectly capable of working who choose to be on the dole. I've had a dodgy back/knees/kidneys for years, as well as various other health problems (Inc depression/anxiety). I've worked most of my life but I'm 54 now and the time is coming when I'll be one of those people who need help, I've just started driving a tipper because its easier than dragging the (upto) 1 tonne pallets around that I did in the last Job. As for having a dig you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that so no problem from me mate.

I think if they've been on benefits for a while they should be made to do voluntary work for 6 months eg. or lose their money, for everyday they miss or are late 2 days extra work should be added

I'm a class 2 driver on for a pallet network been back on it coming up 2 years, my advice is don't bother I'm doing 11/12 hour shifts Inc, travel to work your out the house 13 hours a day. The moneys crap unless you do supermarkets then it's shifts. As other people have said the planners are useless we have 3 one's a car driver the other 2 don't drive at all I go to places in my truck (Farms usually) down tracks I wouldn't go down in my jeep but if you get stuck it's your fault
