My Hw77K Review And Future Plans
Richard Collett replied to Richard Collett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
There is one more route I could take that erases all these problems...I don't have any criminal convictions and would it be worth apply for a FAC and once approved put my rifle on it? I don't know I'm just thinking out loud.... -

My Hw77K Review And Future Plans
Richard Collett replied to Richard Collett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Cheers for the advise jimmy, I thought there could be a chance the power could go up when the spring beds in...mmmm I'm going to have to sleep on, ideally like you I want her power to be 11.40ft/lb. It's all about the learning experience and I'll sort her out, tinker with her, very worst case scenario I have all the original weihrauch parts and I'm sure I can find a combination that produces exactly what I'm looking for. I must say though I do like the Welsh willy spring and the polishing of the internals has made cocking the rifle slightly easier. All in all I'm happy with the kit an -

So with taking the power band out i thought I had solved the ft/lb out...below is my first 10 shot reading, I must say though I have not put many pellets through the rifle, my chrono test plus a few shots before so maybe 30 pellets in total. I am hoping things settle down once I put 100 through it. Shot 1. 802fps. 12.01ft/lb Shot 2. 806fps. 12.14ft/lb Shot 3. 805fps. 12.09ft/lb Shot 4. 809fps. 12.21ft/lb Shot 5. 811fps. 12.26ft/lb Shot 6. 813fps. 12.33ft/lb Shot 7. 805fps. 12.09ft/lb Shot 8. 805fps. 12.09ft/lb Shot 9. 812fps. 12.31ft/lb Shot 10. 807fps 12.16ft/lb So c -

Cheers Jon, mate just finished my take down and re build. All done in just over 20mins, now I know exactly what I'm doing it was so quick. For anyone who is nervous about doing it don't be. They are really easy to work on and I'm a happy man that I did it all myself. Just took my first shot over the chrono and 11.75ft/lb. I have no washers/power bands. It's just the spring and top hat. Do I worry once the spring beds in it creeps up? I'll chrono on a regular basis now just to make sure. -

So I re lubed, built the rifle back up (took a little longer then stripping) cocked it took a shot and everything was sweet. My first time stripping and rebuilding a air rifle...happy happy man until I got the chrono out and fired a few test shots. I realise the spring needs time to settle but...I was firing @ 13ft/lb ooops. I put one medium sized washer in so fingers crossed it's just a case of removing that and re build and everything should be bang on. The law is the law and even though it was 1 ft/lb it is MY responsibility to make sure its legal. (When you buy second hand again you must c -

Very happy man this morning, after waiting nearly 5 weeks...my delivery arrived.... I must say the customer service I received from woodfield gun care products was top notch, I messaged the shop the other day just to see if my item had been posted (xmas deliveries and all that) Will replied to me promptly to inform my my item was being dispatch that day. 48hours later my package arrived. So very happy with the customer service. Just by looking at the spring I can see the workmanship that has gone into it compared to weihrauch, i will post some comparison pictures later when I work o -
Best Spring Powered Air Rifle
Richard Collett replied to Richard Collett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I'll be honest I've completely over looked the walther brand, at one point was really considering a Terrus but changed my mind for the hw77. Now that's two people that have spoke highly of the LGV...Mmmm must say not as beautiful as the walnut stock tx/pro sport. Don't get me wrong I understand unless you shoulder and shoot it's very difficult, so it's all subjective but I respects people honest opinions. -
Best Spring Powered Air Rifle
Richard Collett replied to Richard Collett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
@bilbobagins - you have hit the nail on the head and I can not give you any logical reason why I would sell my pcp to buy another top end springer. my misses asked the same question but she is easily blagged as she is not into shooting.lol im just drawn to sprinters at the moment and all I want to shoot is a spring powered rifles, I even got to shoot my dream pcp (hw100) the other week and even though the gun is perfect I find my self looking for spring powered rifles on the net... -
Best Spring Powered Air Rifle
Richard Collett replied to Richard Collett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Thanks for the replies so far, i thought the top 3 would be pro sport,tx and the hw97...as per most forums when it comes to top end spring rifles. Like bigmac said the anti bear trap is the only thing that puts me of the tx, I was curious if someone would throw a break barrel into the mix...my heart is kinda set on a pro sport but that extra £160/£170 compared to tx,hw and even walther is what is kinda putting me off. I've decided that after xmas the rotex will be up for sale (if anyone is interested pm me) so it will be used to Buy another springer. I can write off the hw97 only because -
Best Spring Powered Air Rifle
Richard Collett replied to Richard Collett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
For me I have one springer and one pcp, hw77 and my Rotex rm8 but am seriously considering selling my rm8 to fund another springer, I can't stop looking at the air arms pro sport in walnut stock. Hence my question because is the pro sport worth the £160 extra compared to the tx200 what is up there as one of the best @rez cheers mate I'm glad someone threw a curve ball, I never see the walther brand up there when I have read similar posts, correct me if I'm wrong but don't walther make the barrel for some air arms or BSA? I agree with you regarding the trigger...why build a beautiful rifle -
Hello lads, Just wanted to hear everyone's opionions regarding what they feel is the best springer they have either owned or fired untuned? Sorry for you members that have been on this site for a long time and have answered this question too many times to count. I'm new to air gunning so have not had the privilege of shooting many but the joys of a shooting range is most people are willing to let you shoulder theirs and fire a few down range Cheers RIchard

Hello all, A few months ago I was bored and wanted a project, so I went on eBay and brought myself a random rifle stock, turns out after some research the stock was from a BSA century rifle...I got a bit nostalgic when I did some research to find that this rifle was only produced from 1955 - 1961. So I have a stock potentially 50yrs plus. My original plan was to use this stock to practice stock engraving, but now I'm in two minds, do I try and restore it hoping that one day I can sell it to someone who has the action or was this rifle that pants that there's a good chance it would not

Also regarding the anti bear trap....yea I think I'll keep that where it should be, just like a seat belt, I put it on every time hoping I don't ever have to see if it works, regarding your pellet choice, tbh I haven't put many different pellets through it, I suppose that's something I should do once it's all back together. Then I won't be able to use the pellet as an excuse when I miss haha -

So I've finished polishing all the internals, polished the sears on the trigger unit I could get to without taking it apart, because my WW kit has a spring, guide etc I haven't bothered polishing them parts, regarding the weihrauch spring, how's best to store it for long term? Or should I sell it/bin it? Cheers for your advise and tips I suppose there is not much more I can do until wait for my kit...or is there? (I'm a man with limited skills and basic tools) -

Also regarding tuners...I did consider that and a lot of people rave about some well respected tuners in the country and they will be able to turn most guns into finely tuned works of art. Two things put me off...one was cost and the other was waiting list. You want the best you have to wait and to be honest....I just don't have that patience and wanted to get stuck in. (they was my back up plan if I mess this project up haha) -

Richard Collett replied to Richard Collett's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I'll be honest I watched a very detailed video on dismantling the trigger unit...that's something I decided to leave well alone. If it's not broke don't fix it.lol don't get me wrong I can see weihrauch have put some of that beautiful gunk in it but I don't have the confidence to strip that down and put it back together so I'm leaving that well alone. So tonight I plan to finishing off polishing the internals. Then it will be playing the waiting game for my drop in kit, I did look at the v-Mach kit and for a home tuner I have heard they are the dogs b******s but they are the top end price -

For the record...all you arm chair experts have the advise I'm after as well Ok so tonight I took the plunge and stripped my rifle down, for a complete novice the strip down was very easy (must have been because of the hours spent on YouTube and forums understanding how the rifle is stripped and put back together. I plan to degrease tonight and make a start on the polishing of internals, I have read that white spirit will work for degreasing, is that correct? -
Hello all, I have had my HW77k for about 6 weeks and I love it, out the box it is an awesome rifle and my pcp (Rotex RM8) has taken a back seat and prob will for the short term. There's something about a spring rifle that makes you feel in tune with it and a pcp just can't replicate that interaction....well that's my opinion. My first gun was a pcp so I kinda did it all back to front.lol As soon as I brought my gun i purchased a Welsh willy service kit, now this is on order and it's been about 3 and a half weeks so I'm hoping that arrives so I can make a great gun that little bit

Gunporn haha love the stocks on all of them

One question though...if hunting with a 30/40 ft/lb rifle...what game are wanting to take down with that?

What luck someone at the range had a hw100 and let me put some lead down range...the dude had a £400 hawke scope on it and wow pin point accuracy and the scope took it to the next level. Looks like oneday the rotex will be upgraded. Until that day the hw77 is going to be getting alot of my attention. Have ordered a welsh willy kit for it today. So hopefully by xmas my new toy will be even better

Weihrauch HW77. Which should I buy?
Richard Collett replied to pianoman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hello, i am new to the forum but have read many post and firstly your topics regarding spring powered rifles have been very intresting. Yesterday i picked up my rifle from the shooting range the hw77k laminate in 1.77 and after shooting it today it is a dream to shoot straight out of the box. I have read all the comments regarding tuning and one day i will go down that route. I have only been sbooting since aug and brought a wslther rotex rm8 and even though that is a dream to shoot i think once i shot the hw77 and felt that little kick it did something the pcp just couldnt do and thats be m
