  14. Thanks Kat, for taking the trouble. Much appreciated. So If you fly a hawk with them, about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Nothing wrong or beats flying jesses and a clip on the glove, in my opinion then, its just that ive spoken to a few Harris flyers and they rave over them for flying etc becouse there quick? No you're right in many ways but if im flying 2 or 3 hh's in a cast its a damn nuisance faffing about with jesses. And out of habit I use them on a solo bird quite often. I just dont see the need for any jesses and I can call the bird back and slip a bullet through the ankl
  15. In the field I like to fly with no jesses so when im carrying my bird I need to be able to attach something that I can slip the bird from quickly and bullet jesses are just that. I always use them. I know that tradition is preferable in 99% of occasions but theres the odd bit of kit thats really useful... They must never be used for tethering as they are not safe enough.. Ive nicked this pic from another forum lol so shhhh Oh and the glove colour is yukkkkkkk My set up is black.

  18. Just to let you know im keeping him/her. It'll make a great PC bird This method doesnt produce a bird that id be happy to sell to 'Joe Public' with no knowledge of them but I actually like them imprinted.. well I like them the way we do them lol The last one went to Scotland as a hunting bird and is an absolute cracker, in fact shes the one in my avatar pic.
  19. Cant help you with the ireland bit but if you have a look through the previous questions and answers in these falconry pages you'll find this question has been asked lots before so you'll find all the info you need. However that doesnt mean you shouldnt ask question im just saving everyone going through the same advise for the ??? time lol You will find once you locate a centre or a falconer near you that they will probably advise you on first bird and breeders. It rather depends on what your permission is like and what sort of quarry it contains and what you'd lke to catch. If you have permis

    My Kestrel

Its whole quail thats been minced in a mincer so theres a bit of feather and bone in it. The pieces are dipped in a drop of water to moisten them and dapped into a vitamin powder.

  22. Thanks Jasper, yes plz.. Ive one potential offer but I like to have more than one option...Id also like to have more than 1 hh lol My next ones aren't due for 4 weeks so the timing is bolloxed
  23. Hi im in great need of finding a very young clutch of hh's as ive a single that needs to join one asap. Mine is 4 days old. If you've got any to be CR or PR please pm me.. Im in North Lincs Thanks Kat
  24. I HEARD THEY CAN BE A BIT FOOTTY Do you think its a hat bird? lol Ive just noticed the mobile hawking vehicle on top of the box... Now thats a good idea for poaching.. the farmer thinks you're out for a stroll with the baby but really it conceals a greedy bird of prey! Imagine the damage you could do with a double box & buggy combo lol
