  1. I too use a fishing rod rest, I rest my left wrist in the 'Y' bit and use my gun in the normal way. Usefull as a walking/thumb stick too. Rob
  2. And you still call him a mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob.......I'd deal with him my way.
  3. My favourite airgun is my Webley Tomahawk and I have a 4x40 Webley scope on it. On my rimfire I have a Simmons 3-9x50 and I've never used above 4x so I have often wondered the same thing masmiffy. Rob
  4. What we have here is a failure to communicate. Name that film Rob Cool Hand Luke! Correct........ Rob

  6. I have a feeling in my water here, our young kobidog has started six topics, one or two conflict with his/her other topics and not one follow up reply from kobidog, that's either bad manners or mischief. Tread carefully people. Rob.......sceptic to the end.
  7. Hi Greg and welcome. I'm sorry but I have to be a bit boring here, I assume you have shooting permission to go hunting your stated prey. I also sincerely hope that you've done your homework on scope zeroing, safe shooting and you know the kill distance of a sub 12ft/lb airgun. I also sincerely hope that you intend to do a LOT of target shooting before you attempt live quarry hunting, I would hope to see at least a thousand pellets through your gun before you go hunting and I would expect to see at least 1" groupings at 25 to 30yds. I'm am also little concerned you're thinking about a Ratcat
  8. Age 53, first airgun at age six, 47 years shooting airguns, 39 years shooting shotguns and rifles. Timelord, is it really necessary to have all that nonsence on the base of your posts. Rob.
  9. Thanks for your concern moxy but I’m not a newby to dismantling air guns, nor am I looking to tune it to FAC, I have powder burning rifles to fill that avenue, shotguns too! I just want to repair the exhaust port and get my Ultra back on song. Rob
  10. Magpie for me, hate the evil barstewards, my blood boils at the sound they make when raiding a nest, even if it's a pidgeons nest, the evil sods just tear the fledglings apart, evil. I would gladly shoot the last magpie on the Earth. Rob
  11. I have a BSA Ultra single shot with a leaking exhaust port, it's dumping all its air. I've stripped it down as far as I can but I can't see any way of dismantling the exhaust port, it's the first time I've ever been beaten with a gun strip. Any ideas appreciated or information as to where I can get a diagram or repair guide. Thanks. Rob
  12. Hello and welcome, let's hope you don't give us all too much Hassle. Rob.
  13. Hey Rob, where you been fella? ....aren't you a mod on a Crosman forum somewhere....? I was, and probably still am!!. A good mate of mine got one of those King Ratcatcher things and started the forum, He asked me to be a mod, it seemed a good idea at the time. But on reflection the very best thing you can do with a Crosman is GET RID OF IT, or better still don't buy one. I've never owned a Crosman but I have a couple of Chinese things, an XS78 and XS79, I tuned the 79 and for a short time it was a bloody good gun, but gas leaks and other problems set in, the 78 was just as bad
  14. By far the best mod you can do with a Crosman Ratcatcher is, GET RID OF IT. Rob
  15. Another update for all you kind people who took an interest in my plight, got the results back from the lab and the growth is non malignant, I'm over the moon. My dog is making a truly excellent recovery and other than a shaven bum hole, you'd not know he'd had surgery. Todays vets are wonderful. Here's a photo of him tonight in his favourite pose in his favourite chair (mine) Rob......really happy again. http://i44.servimg.com/u/f44/12/04/82/42/katie_12.jpg
  16. Paul, I'm no expert mate but I recon your dog was exhausted after his run, giving him food was probably too much for his system to handle. I'd have him checked out by a vet to be safe. When he's back on form I'd leave out the feed for an hour or so after heavy work, just clean cool water, let him cool down, then feed him. Good luck. Rob
  17. Just another update for you all. Friday was a day I’ll not forget for some time, my dog had a bad turn, bleeding badly from his bum, got him to the vets PDQ, a locum vet examined him and found a growth about one inch inside, my heart hit the floor. She said it would be best for them to keep him in and do an internal examination under anaesthetic with a camera thing. She said I will give you an idea of what it's going to cost, I said I was not interested in the cost, its got to be done so lets get on with it. The rest of the day was a blur, got a phone call from the vet about 4.00pm telling
  18. For me there's only two makes I would consider, my first choice is Land Rover, and my second choice is eerrrrrrmmmm, Land Rover. Rob......Land Rover on my bonnet! that'll do for me.
  19. Just thought I’d let all you kind people who offered help and advice know how my dear friend (my dog) is getting on. I listened to your good advice and I starved him for 36 hours, plenty of fresh water. I then began feeding him small meals of chicken, potatoes, chicken gravy and crumbled rice cakes, liberal doses of Bachs rescue remedy. Over a period of three days I gradually increased his food and as a treat I gave him organic live yogurt (thanks little lurcher) mixed with honey and pear juice, chopped pear, and again crumbled rice cakes. He’s still on the same diet but now on full po
