  1. I wonder just what motivates these idiots. Feel really sorry for you.
  2. That's very good, I've not seen it before.
  3. Has anyone else noticed that rats seem to be getting bigger, I shot one the other night that was so big I thought I'd made a dreadful mistake, my lamp was nearly flat but I took the shot anyway (as we all do eh!) I went over with my torch to make sure and it was the biggest bug*er I've ever seen. I hope rats never become extinct cos damn! do I love shooting the sods.
  4. I shall be having a drink or two but not too many as we have the grandchildren here overnight, the eldest is just over two years old and the youngest is just twelve weeks and has no idea what a 'lie in' means so I'm afraid a 6.00am start is probably on the cards for New Years Day, what fun Happy New Year to everyone here.
  5. Now that's a good idea Landrover and I'm going to use it, thank you. Update I got one of these bales today, farmer loaded it into my trailer and I towed it into the field, left it in the trailer, used 4" nails to pin the targets to the bale and off I went, took six shots to zero at 35yds then moved back to 70 yds and zeroed again. Such a good idea Landrover , thanks again mate, it's saved me no end of work. Have one on me
  6. Thanks for that Baldie, now I have a better idea of what it's all about.

  9. I'm very interested in this and I wonder if you could explain it to me in Dick and Dora, not too technical please. I was of the understanding that once the bullet exited the barrel the gasses following served no further purpose and the silencer just slowed the gasses down to reduce noise.
  10. Big welcome John from Ratman2 I'm a Yellow Belly born and bred but I love Scotland, I visit The Highlands every year.
  11. Although I'm a springer man at heart I now use a cheap XS79 CO2 gun for ratting and tree ratting. I have tuned it myself, no parts bought and it runs at about 11.5 ft/lb. Its light to carry and dead accurate and I get about full power shots per refill. Really pleased with it.
  12. Well done mate, tenacity paid off in the end. You have to admire just how canny an old fox can be.
  13. Thanks for that, I recon that the straw bales should absorb a fair bit of velocity and the slugs should ground well within my shooting range. At what distance have you zeroed your scope.
  14. Hello from Ratman2, I'm fairly new myself but I'm enjoying it so come on in.
  15. Hello from Ratman2, I'm fairly new myself but I'm enjoying it so come on in. I enjoy vermin control too. Good luck with your FAC, have you applied for it yet? It can take a long time for a grant in some areas.

  25. As already said your gun would have to be on your mates SGC too, but why not get a cabinet of your own, they're not a fortune and quite easy to fit. I personally could not store my guns away from home. PS. Oh! by the way, it's not a daft question at all mate.
