They are certainly very capable hunters. Got to be impressed by their never give up attitude. When I worked on the estate as a trainee keeper, we got a call to go look at a fox killed ewe. Wasn't a fox kill, the ewe had got stuck in deep snow, the mink finished her off. Mink tracks all over the place, not a fox track to been seen. I personally see no place for mink in the Uk, our wildlife has been hit hard where the mink are. Where I am presently the mink population is fairly low, I don't run a trap line but if I see sign of mink i get the traps set.
Don't know about the jackets but I got a set of pintail trousers, not for summer use. This time of year, brilliant. Keep you at a comfortable temp and dry. Not been wet with them on at all. I would presume the jackets are the same.
I know, what your getting at, mate ?,...but, to be honest, if a "modern duffus", is 'installed' correctly,...this shouldnt really happen ?
Yep shouldn't happen but it does. Maybe we have clever moles up here!
They are actually good traps, I have one at my mothers. Used to use it every year. Can't remember a mole ever pushing it out the way like they can do to the more modern duffus style tunnel traps.
Put silicon round the main hole and the bolt holes as well as the gasket. I actually filled the tube of mine with silicon too. When you fit the the rubber seal over the tube, put it hot water first to soften it. Will go on a lot easier and less chance of damaging it
Would agree that the CZ rifles are good, mine is a Brno version. Bought it in 1982, no idea how many shots it has fired in that time but it must be many thousands. Still groups an inch of so at a hundred yards. Not ammo fussy.
I got to handle a savage 17 hornet a couple of months back. Found the action strange, put me right off. Didn't even fire it. Still looking for a 17 hornet in the near future, it will be a CZ.
Hi guys, just found this site. Thought it looked interesting, so I joined. I am a full time deer manager in Argyll. Been doing this for the last 34 years, seen a lot of changes to deer management over the years, some good and some not so good.
