In all seriousness, if you need somewhere to lay up for a couple of hours or so, Cornwall Services, off the A30 at Roche, Maccy ds, kids play area (indoors, about £5 per hour), shops, even a barbers, other stuff, about 15/20 miles/ half hour or so from Harlyn if you get down early doors. ? Drive down in the middle of the night if your travelling on a weekend or you be stuck in traffic, aim to get here by 08:00 am, plenty of cafes etc around, better off sat on a beach burning than frying in a motor.? Cheers, D.

Depends on the individual places, lots of places are struggling for staff so eating out is usually book in but drinks only isn't as bad. There will be a huge spike of Covid shortly, social distancing has gone in a lot of places. Newquay yesterday. Cheers, D.

Also walk your lamping ground in the daytime (if possible ?) so you'll know where there's any old chain harrows, half burried old farm machinery, open land drains, dykes etc so you know when you slip the dog has got a good chance of an unhindered run. Flip side of the coin, seen a mates dog kill itself by running flat out into an old trailer (huge great thing) because it was single minded on the fox it was after and had no awareness of anything else, sometimes it can't be avoided but you've got to do your best to try to stack the odds in your favour. Myself, my kids and my grandkids were all taught to swim by parents before 5/6 year old. An essential life skill as has been stated by others. Cheers, D.
