  1. Good post, nice to hear the rabbit is surviving still in Australia despite the RVHD in all its forms you have out there. Gives me hope ours will fight it off and increase in numbers soon in the uk.
  2. The funs in the catching not the killing!!! ?. Put it back in and catch it again ??.
  3. It absolutely amazes me some of the holes the dog marks that look utter shite yet if he marks it there’s a rabbit home. On the other side I have seen holes that look positively alive with rabbits dog ignores them and I think there must be rabbits at home and lo and behold...they are empty! I hate ferreting without a dog, I would lose a lot of rabbits due to my lazy netting also as he gets to them 10 times quicker than I do! It’s also one of the best things to just pop a ferret in and pit rabbit against dog, sure they miss plenty but it’s such a thrill watching them and when they catch one noth
  4. Jim unfortunately passed away but Paul Sullivan the leather man does repairs and re calibrations etc on MK1 boxes.
  5. Ffs I honestly sometimes think I wish I had been born in the 20’s or something as I dread to think where this shit will end (world war 2 would have been an issue though!).
  6. Good stuff, always nice when the youngsters come in and perform straight away
  7. There’s some excellent articles on it if you google it and studies done in other countries and this one etc. RVHD disease is a natural disease from South Korea (mixi was native to Peru I believe) and has been introduced by man and with RVHD2 it has been adapted and then released, rabbits in those countries had a natural immunity to it and mortality is quite low there but in Europe and Australia etc with no natural immunity it was devastating initially until the immunity built up. Like Micky has said the only positive with this is the mortality rate is not as high as mixi was, there were over a
  8. The promising thing about the new RVHD disease is that in New Zealand and Australia (as mentioned above) they seem to have formed a very quick immunity to it so baring in mind it’s actually been here since 2014 hopefully give another 5-10 years and it will be see a pick up...it may be slim pickings for some for a few years yet though.
  9. I work there a lot...it can get emotional ??. Some characters round there for sure ?
  10. Had a lad not turn up because he said his gutter was leaking and it kept him up all night so didn’t want to not be at his best and waste my money ? very kind of him. Same bloke also said he slept in till 12.30 in the afternoon because there was a power cut and his phone didn’t charge when he did roll in at 1.30pm let’s say he didn’t look that well rested but hungover and off his head. This all in his first week and needless to say his last week working for me.
  11. Just out of curiosity why do you always split up from your mate when you go together? Would it not be worth staying together and both getting the use of Nells clearly excellent marking nose?
  12. I bet. Just f***ing the game more than it already is for everyone and bringing unwanted attention on to everyone else.
  13. Oh dear!!!! Dare I ask how that one turned out for you?
  14. Fortunately I haven’t! I haven’t got Facebook and and I have no intention of getting it. I think it would just make me angry tbh looking at the dog and hunting pages due to the sheer volume of muppets on there doing the real dog men no favours whatsoever!
  15. 19 months old and putting it up for stud. Ffs. Well proven then. A load more puppies to join the 100’s being passed around for a mars bar then....
  16. If your working for a contractor of any sort they will take 20% of your earnings under the cis scheme, you will still need to do a tax return though and that will probably result in a rebate as all your expenses will now come off the tax you’ve already paid at source. All your fuel, vehicle expenses, work clothes, tools, mobile phone can all be claimed back. You will also need to register for NI, best bet is to speak to an account but it’s all pretty straightforward especially if your working for one person and not loads of different customers.
  17. So sorry for your loss Trev, never gets any easier losing dogs especially in these circumstances.
  18. Agreed. I really do dislike the bbc in the main, they are so left wing when they should be impartial. License fee is a joke, should scrapped. It’s a joke in the modern age that they get all that money and if you want to own a tv you have no choice but to pay it. License fee gets absolutely wasted on nonsense
  19. Let’s not mention Packham I’ll start hyperventilating ???
  20. All mine live in the house together no problem.
  21. I have two entire dogs and one bitch and they all get on brilliantly no problems at all. Bitch absolutely loves her boys and they both adore her. All extremely laid back dogs though.
  22. Not for me, I’ll stick to nets and dogs. If you want to shoot rabbits go out at night with a lamp. I am sure plenty of people do it safely but it doesn’t feel safe to me and it’s all about enjoyment and nothing will compares to watching a dog work a warren and catch a rabbit as it bolts. Would never risk taking a dog if someone was shooting and ferreting without a dog to me is just not the same.
  23. Sorry to hear about your health, tried to pm but didn’t work....
