I’m not a lurcher man, never will be, got one and that’ll do me, ive not got a type, aslong as it does that task at hand. I know plenty boys with all different types to suit what they do mate, but they don’t slate other men’s crosses, they use what’s useful for the job they do. I’ve never heard one of them coming out with the shite you do and never expect them to because they are honest dog men. ??

To your question does it work better in brambles, run your head through them, then give yourself a 1 all over and do it again, see which hurts more. for me personally I prefer a smooth coat, but that’s because I’m a lazy b*****d, ask the show guys and they’ll beg to differ.

Helion thermal spotter, 14amp and a light force 170. Only need to use the lamp once it’s go time, battery lasts a few nights, I always walk in with the thermal now a days.

I wouldn’t mind trying a similar cross, seen some hill keepers gwp marking holes, taking foxes, and out on grouse days 5 days a week, stamina for days and as hardy dogs as you’ll get, If you find one up this way gives a shout.

A young bitch for the coming season, anyone with any well bred pups out there fancy a spaniel pup gives a shout and we can do a swap, older bitch never broke down and need something to run on.

Everywhere could be different mate, depends on ventilation in the holes, pockets of fumes could stay in there for a good while, as above, what doesn’t bolt with a good oily mix won’t last long anyway.

Maybe you’ve not had the best of luck with who you’ve ran in to mate. I’ve lurchers and terriers, there’s bad in all, a couple off grapes don’t make a bad bunch.

If you were approached on the hill and confronted, that definetely wouldn’t be your reply I guarantee? beauty of the net!!. Over it mate no hard feelings here, but I deal with this kind of situations on a daily basis, as do other hill keepers, trying to keep c**ts to hill roads and dogs on leads this time of year.

3/4 weeks of the year that grouse are trying to nest and vulnerable, if that’s yer attitude towards like minded fellow countrymen/hill keepers that’s shocking really mate, imo.

Gents, does anyone so happen to have a spare pup kicking about? Long shot but I’ve had Better seasons for one reason or another, so it’s back to the drawing board, don’t have a circle as can’t be annoyed with the politics of it all, me and a mate quietly plod away keeping busy, more work for them than ever and call outs coming out my ears.
