  1. Found this pellet just under the skin on a rabbit I ferreted and skinned today.
  2. I used the game carrier Nelson made for me with the wide strap still heavy but much more comfortable on the shoulder
  3. I don't see the point in cammo? Rabbits underground and doesn't see you until you have already caught it and your dispatching it?
  4. Sorry for your loss ? you don't think it's related to the recent vasectomy do you?
  5. Just booked him in for a vasectomy at Eastgate Vets, Pickering. £44.40 I was quoted, that's 200% cheaper than most of the other Vets I contacted! Thanks to everyone for your advice Sorry to jump on the band wagon but after seeing this I too have booked mine at Eastgates Pickering, more business for them ?? thanks for sharing.
  6. Thanks ? My first bit of permission so I was eager to get out there, must invest in some waterproof trousers though!
  7. Thanks Ian, good day out again and I made it on time for lunch result.
  8. Thanks for all the advice the lads booked in next Friday for a vasectomy after much thought, but I will be using him for my own Jill's only I think after what I read regarding borrowed vac hobs and hopefully that will reduce the risk to and avoid spreading any diseases ? Haha He's calmed down completely and all three been living happily together since. And as mentioned I can put the divider in the double hutch to separate them if the Jill's need a break from him.
  9. I think the method depends on what your purpose for the skin is. If it's a rug then I believe salting will be fine, I may be wrong please correct me if so but salting will cure the hide but make it a bit hard. The solution you can buy on eBay similar to the alum pickle solution will leave the hides softer for use for example for clothing etc ? That's how I understand it anyway... I have a few bunny hides I'm going to have a go at before I dare tackle deer, but let me know how they turn out I'll be interested to hear the results ??
  10. The hob that northern lad or his friend used?Wish mine would learn to stand up to him, he's a real softie as well for such a big lad. I caught him pinning one of the Jill's down earlier and grabbed him by the scruff and pinned him down and you should have heard him squeel Would have thought I was murdering him. It could be hes trying to mate them, one of my hobs is in already, have his balls dropped?Without being impolite lol... Good question I will investigate today ? ?

  12. That's a vesectomised hob though? Think I'll get this lad castrated defeats the initial purpose but sorts the housing issue out. Yes, the snipped hob. A lot depends on your hob, if he's a couch potato then your fine, if he's a bit hyper, like some are, then your going to have to rest him by parting them. He's a real laid back chap, can't help it that he has hormones but I went to see 4 and out of the lot he had the best temperament.

  14. I see what your saying but I'd rather him be in with the girls all the time.
  15. Nothint wrong with my sweatshirt ? You mean to say that odour isn't suitable to wear out on a sat night? That's where I'm going wrong! If he plays nice he can stay, he's really good to handle and I don't mind getting him castrated if it works.
  16. Until the anaesthetic wears off and his wound has healed lol. Long may it continue for you, I guess it just depends on the individual doesn't it.
  17. Yeah same goes for horses I'm told this has never bred! But now it's seen the Jill's it may have a slight idea what it's all about ? I was under the impression a vesectomised hob could happily live with Jill's all year round.
  18. Thanks for the advice, I have acquired a nice albino hob with the intention of having him vesectomised and keeping with the Jill's to knock them out of season I'm not keen on the idea of the jab personally, problem is he's doing allot of pestering. I could keep him separate but it seems a shame and I'd need to look into getting another hutch then he would need a companion and so on ... I believe he was born in may last year he's only a year old anyway would getting his castrated help with his dominance still with him already being older? If I were to get him castrated there a risk of him g
