Interests
My interests are my dogs, nature, the great outdoors. lm never happier than when im out with one or other of my bitches mooching for fur and feather. l also enjoy lurcher shows and events such as lure coursing, basically im a crazy dog lady whose existance revolves around the dogs.
l'm not saying im an expert by any means, far from it, which is why its brilliant to be able to join a forum like this and learn from those vastly more experienced than me.
I've just recently picked up my very first bull lurcher puppy and am looking to train her maybe to be night time dog. Lamping is something im yet to try.
Outside of the dogs my interests are much the same, nature, the great outdoors, i like camping and im rather fond of motorcycles to..

Timber Wolf Crossed Alsatian 1950's
Bull lurcher babe replied to tillylamp's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
A couple of my girl finally. She looks a bit out of proportion as she's only 11 months old and they grow more slowly than other none wolf type breed. re Saarloos, they are stunning dogs, and tend to be more wolfish than the Czech as they have the smaller ears and more wolfy proportions, Unfortunately the breed standard in their country of origin, Holland i think, called for aloofness and timidity, and because this was bred for the breed/type, such as it is, now has a massive problem with fear bitting and fear aggresdive dogs, and so they are crossing out to Czech wolf and other similar typ -

This is my girl as a pup, pick of her dad Rio and the amber eyed one is Soul, an imported Czech belongs to a friend. Will put some current ones of my girl asap, locked out of photobucket again -
Condolences, totally know where you're coming from, i lost a bitch i loved dearly a few years back. I got her in similar circumstances that you got Indie as well, my mum had just died and l'd just left the Army and she helped me through some rough stuff, my girl got injured and had to be pts, felt like my world had fell apart. For what it's worth you clearly weren't to blame for what happened to your dog, only the drunk idiot who injured her is to blame for that. RIP Indie

Timber Wolf Crossed Alsatian 1950's

I think they are called Czech wolfdogs. l have one, they are the result of a deliberate crossing of Carpathian wolves to GSDs in the 1950s as someone has already said. Mine is very different from any other dog l've ever owned, in her mindset and behaviour. Looks wise she's very wolfish but german shepherd sized, temprement wise she's very friendly to me, but goes out of her way to avoid any contact with anyone else, she's good with my other dogs and she's relatively obedient. The photo is of her sister and her mum, i will post some pics of mine later- 43 replies

Theres some really good dog beds, i forget what the are called but i will look it up and get back to you. My dogs, former bed shredders every one, each have one and they are nice and padded but very tooth and claw resistant. They were expensive but ive only ever had to buy them one each so it's cost effective in the long run

Throw back or cross of a domestic? See quite a few pure white and solid black ones at one place i visit. Not sure if its a shallow gene pool causing normally rare mutations to occur more frequently or maybe because people dump pet ones there from time to time. Seen very light brown ones but never a...brindle? One like that
