So was able to talk with a really accomplished alligator control guy this weekend at the LTA convention. We got to talking about shooting gators as they where swimming or sitting on the surface at distance ( at least 100 or so yards). Their usually snagged ,snared ect and shot with a .22lr but you get some they just don't wanna play that game. You have about a 1"-1.5" kill spot on a sideways floating gator and less then a inch or so of room before your hitting water. His caliber and bullet of choice really surprised me. But before I tell ya Im just curious what everyone reckons a professional

And had to ride hang off the tailgate going 55mph down dirt roads to the last spot took Abit longer for them to tree but about 12min in they treed about 150yd in and had to go though some creeks ditches and hills to get to em Aaannnnd of course my buddy missed the one shot we had but all in all it was pretty fun ?

Their drop didn't take long at all before they treed and we where choppin though Vietnam ? Leaves where too thick and after 15min of looking we couldn't get a shot so pulled out and hit further up the road

Finally got home and was able to measure everything and as far as core grouping where the bulk of the bullets where landing I got 2.080" @50 and 2.631@100yd. and gotta say it's interesting that my POI as far as vertical barely changed ? but all in all pretty happy ? had alot of guys saying I'd be lucky to get 4" groups @100yd and here I am with close to half that lol. Will be good cheap plinking ammo if anything if I can't shrink these down some more

Haven had any yet as far as I can tell. Here's me cleaning it after the initial round where I was going past 2500fps and didn't see anything. Then again I am an amateur at this so my I missed something ??

Couldn't sleep to my usual so decided to load up some more cast and give it a try with some most shot groups, and gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised! haven't had time to measure them properly but I'm fairly happy with the core grouping Got full functionality out of my AR, velocity stayed right around 2200fps which is a little faster then I'd like but hay what can ya do. Now what I need to figure out is what's with those wide flyers ? out of 15 shots on the 100yd target 5 flew pretty wide compared to the other 10 so maybe these where flawed bullets some how? idk but th

Idk eveyone I've talked to said their about like scallops if you cooked em right. Make it's on if them things like how the Northern boys always say catfish is poor eating because they don't really know how to cook em ?

So I'm just curious,anyone happen to make anything out of fur over there ,at least for personal use ? I know y'all arnt allowed to sell anything but always seems a real shame it just gets thrown away. Not really into wearing fur stuff myself but seems it could be used for something. I mean here even squirrel tails are used for various things. Anyway not saying anyone's right anyone's wrong just curious as usual. Thanks

Been eating a lil trap like this for a while and finally fined it up yesterday. 6x6x20 spring loaded wire triggered. Got some critters not interested too much in bait but they like running the same trails so reckon I'll just slip this little guy in and watch the show ?

Just curious when yalla re doing load development how do y'all shoot ? Some guys say the shoot exactly how they would in the field ( ie prones bipod rear bag) something about harmonic nodes. The. On the other spectrum some guys are using lead sleds clamp rests ect. Personally I'm in the middle prefer to do probe but usually it off of a nice front bags and rear bag set at a natural POI. What about y'all ?
