    Sometimes I hate living in the south ? it's supposed to be winter right now a FFS it's almost 90 out ! Just got back from filling a coon feeder and I'm sweating like a pig and not to mention these little gifts of the good Lord are still out ? I don't need a snow day but man some chill in the air would be mighty nice right around now ??

    Reckon I need a cowboy had now , got this little girl for a while to mess around and load for. Was my grand dad's then my dad's now my little brothers but if gonna be mind for a while till I can get it worked up and loaded for Fond memories I have of this thing though is walking back from a day of walking around trying to jump a deer and I asked dad how you unload it ,well he tired ato show me and next thing you know their a 30 cal bullet hole in the dirt dead center between my feet ??     We don't really have the population where we live for gators to be much of a problem. With us they mainly live around the larger water ways like the creeks and rivers and they might moves a mile or two away from that but generally never have any issues with them. Louisiana is a different story. As far as venoms snakes, YES ! Very common to see cottonmouths around ponds like this , and depending what time of the year it is they will chase you. I mean seriously you'll see one 30yd in the water way from you , it notices you and it will make a B line and come right at you. Thing are mean as s

    Theirs supposed to be. Dad stocked it earlier in the year with 100 channel catfish , like 20 larger mouth 50 something white crappie and a 100 odd bluegill Haven't caught any of the bass yet but I think the heat and low rain we've had all yeah may have killed them but who's to say ? A smaller live gill under a float is hell on bass though like you said ? alot of the bass purist really frown on it though , but I mean ....drink a beer with a free blue gill swimming around looking for the bass for you or casting a 10-40 doallr lure 300 times ...     Yes sir! Not really any big ones but their beyond fun to catch. We just use the term bream for any panfish that looks or is shaped like these fish because you have like 50-100 different species of panfish I think.

    Nothing much honestly feeders only been up for a week so mainly just racoons , an armadillo, rabbit and a deer walking by. No hogs which suprised me though.

    He used to do little league for a while but about two years of that he just decided it wasn't for him and my parents to believe in pushing us to stuff like that like a lot of parents do.     Was check trail cams at my parents place and dad just kinda out of know where said " you know ...wonder what to catfish we stocked in the bottom pasture pond are doing ?" Probably been a year or two since we did any fishing together, and my little said he want to too , and he's 17 goin on 18 now so now's the time to do some family stuff .     So after running trail cams on some small cages with wire triggers I made and conibears , I saw a lot of smaller animals like barn rats actually gave a lot of refusals that or the where able to get though without triggering the trap alot , various reasons . Seemed for every one I caught a few more smaller ones would just walk under the triggers or the bigger ones just didn't want to push though. I'll tell you a teil camera will really show you just how little your actually doing lol. Thought I was hammering them . Nope.     They don't. Honestly anything even close to those type of traps is beyond frowned upon . Especially due to the fact we deal with a lot of non target by catch. Not everything we cat h is going to get . 22 so it's imperative that where able to release no target with as little damage to them as possible. So stuff like those and what most people think of is just not acceptable. It's actually extremely common to sand jaw faces smooth to the touch round off and sharp edges weld on extra metal stock to make the jaws wider thus displacing pressure and improving blood flow ect.     No not really , geared mainly toward the trapping aspect of things . Just about everyone here fishes and hunts though but trapping is more of a ... special thing. Rendezvous actually go waayyy back to the 1700's and before when the country was first being explored by fur trappers so it's kinda a culture all on its own. It's a big family / brotherhood.
