  1. From some world class shooters ,might interest yall
  2. So just curious about something I'm a bit ignorant on when it comes to how y'all do stuff. So over here it's really common while predator calling to bring both a rifle and shotgun, ( using loaded with smaller buck shot or some of the newer TSS) or have a buddy shooter with a shotgun . Mainly because at times you will get animals coming in really fast or at odd angles or if you live somewhere like I do and are calling where it's super thick a shot gun it's just a better deal then a rifle. MFK is a prime example of what I'm talking about hope to the 7min mark and you'll see what I mean.
  3. O I didn't really think you where honestly. Well when it come to wild catters you have two different types from all the guys ive talked to watched and read about. 1. You have people who are incredibly perticular. They want a certain bullet, doing a certain thing out of a certain gun type , for a perticular reason. And they will always push the boundaries to get the slightest edge they possibly can. And what's offered in standard offering though they can and will work for most , especially the average guy, just plain arnt good enough for them. Bench rest , PRS, ELR and FClass guys are
  4. It's a southern breakfast dish. It's kinda like a oat meal type of thing. Basically just a porridge made from ground cornmeal. And like oat meal it's more of a base then something you eat by its self. Usually add some bacon ,or you eggs ect. I've seen a lot o creative stuff don't with it too. Famous one being shrimp and grits which is ok but not really my thing. Its basically like a filler. Like many down here will say " hell a starving dog wouldn't eat plain grits" Think theirs various versions of something similar using buck west hommeny and similar though out the world . You
  5. ??? Don't really eat grits anyway, breakfast in general really
  6. Would get bored of watching dogs chase rabbits after a while I reckon...
  7. Never been a fan of letting dogs to the end deed , tree em , bay em, hold em while I take the shot or pull out the knife, fine but watching a dog or pack of dogs finish off a critter ?? rabbits and the like are ok I guess but egh But that's just me ?
  8. I bet I'm simply saying their doing that in places with no pressure. If no one is after them then of course animals will usually be pretty bold , but like I said in areas where people are taking care of them ,popping them with suppressed .22lrs or high powered PCPs ( spoke to a few people who do this for cities and towns) in that case they will also adapt to be much more skittish.
  9. That looks more like a semi rotted down gut pile then anything honestly cat scat or any other large preators would have a lot more solid look along with visibal fur usually And sorry guys but I'm doubling this would be a Lion but we'll, this is an average adult Mt.lion.... Unless their just smaller or something.... Or an extremely small population egghhhhh
  10. True but depends on the city. I know places like LA Chicago ect where their not harassed they don't care but places like new Orleans where they have people "taking care of them" their much more skittish for obvious reasons
  11. With a large apex non native predator roaming around I'd really hope someone would be out to keep them in check or eradicate then before they become a real problem .. honestly what's to be lost with allowing a controlled season or a tag draw even if it becomes know these are a actual animal?
  12. So this is a rather interesting thing. Animals will adapt and change when put in different environment where different things happen, more or less food sources, habit ect. Possibly after a few generations what these cats could be have just simply adapted to the easy living in the UK ? Kinda like various preators living in now urban areas . Coyotes have been documented living in places like Chicago very well but their very raley seen they only target certain prey species ect. Fox would most likely stay very clear of any form of large cat , talk to many outdoors men hunters trappers e
  13. Side note, in the subject of bobcats, cool old pic that was posted in one of our trapping history pages on FB
  14. We'll haven't personally delt with any real big cat kills , mainly just finding trash piles of small game from bobcats, that being said though just looking at your pictures most of these don't really come off as cat kills the first one possibly something other then average but everything thing elese just looks like something a feral dog would to imo. That b info said since I'm not massive experts on the matter I did post this on my trapping form to see what the guys in cat country thought and here's one of their responses so far It's 10p.m here so should be more answers in the morning. Bu
  15. Small population, even here with our large population it's pretty rare to see a road killed bobcat. Even in places like Montana where they are literally over run with mountain lions you just pain to hear about many getting hit by cars. Mainly because their not stupid. A cat generally won't move if thinks you can see it, unless their super bold. So trying to cross a busy road Infront of a car just doesn't make a lot of sense. Combine that with a population of many what... 100 tops possibly? No to mention they would probably just cross at least frequented areas , under road culverts ect
  16. One more thing : range. Most big cats( smaller ones too) have very big ranges , usually, things can cause this to very, but generally that range wide. This can cause a HUGE problem for people trying to track the things . I've talked with guys who trap both bobcats and mountain lions along with reading a lot form a biologist for trapped large predators all over the world for scientific purposes. They all agree cats roam a lot. You see tracks it could be two weeks before a tom bob cat comes back though to that area . Guys in texas told me by the time you see a lion track on on ranch that
  17. So forgive me because I haven't gone though this whole thread but I headed to dabble heavily in cryptozoology and the whole UK big cat thing was something I gave some attention to. But here are my main questions Have there been any live stock kills or attacks where ethe animal has been bitten from the neck area ? Have kills been found where there was a deer sheep ect in a tree or burried ? In like a leaf litter pile ? Not even going to ask about a carcasses of this big cat because your never really find those regardless. Like seriously I've talked to guys who hunt mountai
