again that depends on the state. like here in Mississippi, kill 100 deer if you want ,shoot hogs outta helicopters, hell you can hut rabbits with a .50 sniper rifle if you want. as long as you have your license and you have permission to be on that property if its's private no one really cares. out rule book for hunting fishing and trapping is like 40 pages I think. now you go some where like Minnesota , dear lord... we call them commie states for a reason. I mean you cant shoot a deer with any thing under a .243, all deer have to be weighted and tagged at a registered stations, bla bla b

I thought the same - I wouldn't be surprised if that's how that hog met it's end he did stock one of em ! I forgot which though. By stick I men while the catch dogs do their deal he came up grabbed it by the hid legs and knifed him right through the heart with a knife. Cool old dude though -

Somone Wanted To See Some Wild Hog Hunting ?
Wolfdog91 replied to Wolfdog91's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Sorry no pics of their dogs but normally the bay dogs are walkers or cattohula (blue) though most any dog can be a good bay dog. Lotta mix breeds . Catch dogs are usually pitbulls or American bulldog. Pit bulls being the preferd in my area. Though I have seen mastifs and rotwillers used . all dogs wear tracking collars but the catch dogs are usually the only ones who wear the cut vests. -
Someone here wanted to see a pic of our hogs. Well some guys brought there dogs down today and I was in the area. Wasn't able to get my knife out or my AR smoking but was fun all the same. These two weight out around 350lbs each with 7inch cutters. One of the bay dogs got gut hooked but should be OK

Me And My Little Brothers First Snapping Turtle
Wolfdog91 replied to Wolfdog91's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I wouldn't say they're vermin in the sense of rats but they are a pest in some situations. The main problem they cause is eating fish in peoples ponds . They also take ducks, geese , I've seen em bite cows on the utters ( and other places ) when they wade in ponds. They'll also bite people swimming. t, until he thing is most of the time people wont even know they're in their ponds for years ! There extremely stealthy animals believe it or not. I have a rather large pond behind my house and ive fished there since I was in diapers, I only found out this year there were snappers only because the -

A broom handle? f**k me. I take it back - don't stick your finger in there ha Yeah those are more of the larger ones, the gator snappers mainly. Those aren't super common in my state as they are futher south in Louisiana. I had I friend who caught one , think it drowed in one of his catfish nets, thing was like 200lbs, theres old news clippings from back in the 20'-50's where they caught 500 pounders I mean just huge creatures !. those thinks would snap a broom handle like a twig and tank a finger clean off. how ever what I have are the common snapping turtles. They can get really big
