  1. I'm sure the smiles will be replicated, don't you worry What a difference. I'll be sure to hassle you if I ever need mine giving a makeover.
  2. Does your Mrs disappear for the weekend? That pic is my Mrs. Maybe we're sharing and didn't know it hah. It's a picture I took in the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Texas. Supposedly a species that cohabited the earth alongside early humans.
  3. Be sure to take a box of mansize tissues and allow him a couple of minutes with them and his stock. I felt like I was there with him in his stories early on in this thread. To see the progress made, I'd say wow but I don't think that does it justice. Outstanding work. It's like taking old sepia photo's of your parents as kids and then having someone reproduce them in full HD colour on a 50" TV. Just takes your breath away.
  4. No rush, just keep us updated. I've started making myself a natural shooter, so starship will have to be my next project, by which time hopefully there's a video of yours up.
  5. I'll even add a cuppa just to sweeten the deal. You're a top guy. She's gunna love it. She'll have better kit than me soon enough hah. Whenever we go to Bushcraft meets she's always coming home with a gift, lucky bugger. At least she puts em to good use. Pretends to be a girly girl then plays in the mud. 14 this year and is more interested in camping than boys, at least for now.
  6. In Leeds, someone has to be I guess hah. If there's a few of you around then no doubt I'll be picking your brains regarding springers and catty's.
  7. Get this man a bacon sandwich! You're gunna make someone pretty happy.
  8. I never really understood starship designs when I first got in to shooting my catty. After a bit of time with the "sport", I've been tempted to try and design my own. This has given me a bit of a gentle push towards using something similar. Would love a video of this thing in action.
  9. Great informative post. I grew up catching them in a local "beck" with little dipping nets. As they swim backwards, we'd have someone waiting behind it and then someone move the front net towards them and sort of sandwich them. Made it for interesting sport. Had some beauties too. Didn't know the difference between species at that point and because we put everything back, plenty of signals were reintroduced. Such a shame we knew no better. Fast forward some 20 odd years and I had my first taste as a Crawfish Gumbo in Texas. Couldn't really discern a taste. Had my first taste of a plain on
  10. Having been a keen outdoorsman for the last couple of years, I've recently become the owner of an air rifle that I'd love to learn to respect, value and cherish for the forseeable future. I found this place via google search and there are some wonderful articles and posts detailing information I was looking for. Here's hoping I settle in quickly and get to chatting about the nuance's of springers and the hunting life. Mike
  11. If I had transport, I would have loved to take you up on the offer for my eldest daughter. I just got a Remington Express .177 a couple of days ago and she's been bugging me for a while to get her one. We're into "Bushcraft" and "Wild Camping", so we're around them a lot at organised meets and she's a dab hand with a catapult, which you can see in my YouTube videos. This is my first post here after doing a google search for tips on Springers. It's good to know the community has people like you involved. Good luck finding the right person! Shame I don't drive though hah
