  1. their really nice butter or olive oil pepper and salt cut into steak size an whack it on the george forman.or just cook them in milk with pepper and salt.
  2. a rezza asil about 6 pound in weight.their real nice birds when crossed with my maclean hatch that was just a once off breeding. i wil stick with my pure hatch fowl.
  3. They would survive perfectly well in the Irish countryside as there's a small population of Brown Hares in the North but for a club affiliated to the ICC to do it they would probably be breaking the law and it would also give ammunition to the antis. cheers neil for clearing that up.you would think though that catching hares from certain death when shot on a drive relocating them would be the right thing to do.we dont hear antis flying that flag.
  4. Whats the apples for?,if you want the services of an expert alcohol taster id be readily available to sample for you, plus id not charge you for the use of my expertise,2 or 3 litres may be needed . just some left over apples from the garden said i throw them in with a few of this yrs left over pears.the jar hold a good 8 litres.grand when friends call on a cold night talking lurchers and terriers.
  5. Some of the fruits of last week's sloe picking. looking forward to corking it around Christmas time.
  6. bought all the chalkey and the boys dvds really good viewing.whats the story with the robin that lad is he a part time ganster or rapper.he has to be taken the piss.top class coursing pity we havent got those type of fields down south of ireland holding game.
  7. have a high value treat for her when she returns back to you each time.ie hot dog cut up.if ur training at home try to have ur back against a wall preventing her from running around you.
  8. just want to know we often hear about driven hare shoots and 100s of hares being shot on estates in a season over in england.has any legal irish coursing club or clubs or any one indivudal ever tried to catch these hares for release in ireland.would they survive.i know they are a different breed of hare to whats here in ireland. it just seems to be an awful waste of beautiful running machine.
  9. if only we had a feral pig problem in ireland.
  10. cheers their very easy to keep and taste pretty good.one doe has had 6 litters this yr hard to believe approx 28 kits in total.
  11. delonpara get urself a copy of dead game their is a guy in the book that worked glens i think he is from dublin .i met him at a show in kilkenny about 10yrs ago we were talking for a good while. he had a glen with him that day. the dog was the real deal. taught the man was straight and honest about his glens.he had lakies one time also he bought them of a man from limerick.i haven met any one since then that had anything like the working type that man had that day.i hope he still has that line going and by talking that day to him i think he was in them for the long haul.even if u were to use
  12. lets be honest about this. lads that work proper stuff either if its lurchers or terriers wouldnt dream of selling pups at lurcher shows.they dont need too.i hope their is a crack down on pups being sold at fairs all over.a lot of the time its lads trying to make money selling dirt.serious dog men would agree fairs are not for selling pups.
  13. Yes mate, going to go black powder coat over galvanised bars. I'm half way through making them up. Hard to get time for your own work!! If my explanation makes sence then there will be a gate at each side of the small stub walls with the white capping, then a railing over the stubby wall in between the two gates. There will be divisions running from the back of each red brick pier to the back wall and in the middle of the stubby walls. So each arch has two runs 14feet by 6feet and a gate hanging off each pier..... cant wait to see it finished.
  14. fox digger what colour gates or bars aru u putting in them.if it was me i would go with black powder coated saw them in a few yard looks well.
  15. quality work on the stone.ive been in a lot of stallion yards in top stud farms around ireland i can safetly say this is up their with the best of them only difference is its on a smaller scale.top class kennells.
  16. its one part of our game in ireland we could do with cleaning up.whats wrong with a pair of jeans boots and a shirt if u decide to go to a show.some lads look like their on a jeremy kyle show.
  17. I agree. Works wonders as long as you don't let em walk behind you throwing a tug dried stuffed rabbit skin or a dummy for the lurcher to retrieve really works them in the rushes only really works if they like to retrieve. incorapate a treat every now and then.dont try it with more than one terrier works out badly.
  18. around where i live their are a lot of tall thick rushie fields.its a great place to get my lurcher and few terriers fit and to get wind into the dogs.you can really see them working through them.we all hate walken these kind of fields when were going checken earths with a bag of tools on our back.this is just another way of conditioning dogs that dosent cost anything.i find it works for me and can really see a difference especially in my hound when he meets open country when the time comes to open the taps his tounge is back in his mouth in under 2mins after a hard approx 800mtr is run.
  19. just take a look at where the lurcher and terrier rings are in the grounds that should tell us all we need to know out of sight out of mind.birr castle and its grounds looked great yesterday really enjoyed walking the entire estate.
  20. whats the story with wearing track suites and camo gear at lurcher and terrier shows. are lads training for a marathon or going to a rave or joining the irish rangers.is it an irish thing.
  21. Some of this yrs hatch some reared by my old black hen.
