  1. Anyone in Suffolk doing a bit? Pm if preferred. Ed
  2. Thank you both for replying. Rabid- they are stored in a cupboard in my utility room, guessing temps range from 9/10 - 19/20degrees. The ones that hatch are normally on the right day, however a couple come a day late. Yes my incubator is running at 38.2 and is a fan incubator. I will try turning it down slightly. Jok - i put an 8 unwashed eggs in on Sunday evening to test to see what happens. I have made a candler stand that attaches to my phone case, not the best but can make out that 3 out of 8 have the embryo and veins formed, 3 are clear with no yolk and 2 have a yolk but no signs of
  3. I like traditional human names - Albert, Henry etc
  4. Enjoy her - as said you have a good outlook on her and getting out with any dog is better than sitting on the sofa
  5. I set mine off sometimes in my workshop if I walk around too heavily. Got a wooden floor and if the wind slams the door they can go off as well.
  6. Very nice looking pair mate, bitch enjoying the rats!
  7. Would some old pallets pinned together do the job? Especially if your not planning on being there ages...
  8. Must be the dogs nuts in the trap... I'm interested to find out where your journey of discovery led you?!
  9. Also, they won't be any draughts, the eggs are a maximum of a week old and have been stored big end up in cardboard egg boxes. Ed
  10. I normally give them a wipe over with a cloth. Generally speaking 90% of those that start go all the way through and hatch. 30% don't even start, would this be due to the eggs not being fertile? Or would it be humidy or temp? I have the eggs at 38.2C. Ed
  11. What do you guys do? I'm on about 60% hatch rate (hybrid chicken) and wondering if I can improve this by cleaning or not cleaning them before they do in the incubator? Ed
  12. Great idea. Especially it's soaking outside and they only have mud!
  13. That's an amazing video! Makes you wonder about the land they were running on, what they were feeding on and where the adults were hiding that appeared the following week! I wonder how many people got hit by their mates club 'by accident' haha
  14. Mine had jabs boosters 2 weeks ago, i said to my vet that he would come into contact with rats on a regular occasion. He understood what I meant and said to book him in for another jab in 4 weeks against a new strain, I hadn't given it another thought until I read this. I will ask for more info when I go back. Best part is that I paid upfront for jabs for life so he was just being a good bloke rather than offering another jab for his financial gain.
  15. Good on you mate. He looks like he's loving it
  16. How could anyone vouch for someone who goes out and does a bit but doesn't have any mates that are on this site???
  17. Me too, just got a certain look about them
  18. Thanks for the link trenchfoot... great video, looks like a great bit of action! Best part for me was reading some of the comments, the first ten or so weren't from antis but people thanking the lads for doing it! Bet that's not the response the author expected! AGood on you lads for a public service!
