  1. All they are looking for is winners not consistency I don't think mate
  2. Most of the good ones don't live long enough in Eastern Europe, they are hard hard hard on their dogs, but I,d imagine the level of game ness they achieve is well above average, if there were any way of scoring such a thing.
  3. That's unfair to the dogs of the past that I've taken their deaths. I don,t honestly think so, certain circumstances dictate what does and does nt happen, the example that Gnasher gives is a certain exampleSaying that those Scottish dogs seemed to overcome lives obstacles
  4. As the saying goes they,ll all quit on any given day. Here s one for you lads, anybody seen a dead game dog scratch ?
  5. Just looking back on the gnasher litter they were like peas in a pod, which one was rated the best ? Dutch ?
  6. Along with his litter comrades... Incoming...
  7. Thats my point nobody thought them worthy of preserving......didnt Bills owner get rid of all his Reid stuff to make way for Lady Pedro dogs. Again, reasons can be seen as excuses and proper people dont make excuses for dogs Smokey stopped and thats that...whether him arriving in the Uk with heartworm had anything to do with it,whether him not being the same dog that beat Sinbad had anything to do with it who knows a lot of people thought he would walk through Max and so no amount of reasons/excuses change the outcome or the fact that Max was an outstanding bulldog. Maybe Don't say that
  8. Slightly off topic but ed Reid must be a fair age now, if he's still alive. One of smokeys wins was over a very highly rated dogman in the states who has produced and had many champions through his hands.....he rated smokey very highly.
  9. In terms of certain individual dogs i wouldnt argue......in terms of blood i would say we was way behind the Dutch.......which i think has been proven over time. His most prolific dog Skipper was down from Stubblefields Buddy, the first Sporting Dog Journal's Grand Champion. They came down from a unique and fairly rare bloodline tbh but there performance was without doubt. Max beat an imported Limey dog that had beat a champion over the pond, the dogs were the real deal. Are you talking about the dog they called "the Dentist " ?
  10. I don,t personally think the Dutch were ahead of us, in fact I,d say the reverse was true. And having been over the water (not Holland) and seen some of the big operations over there I reckon that for whatever reasons, ( plenty of space ) being the main one they love feeding multitudes of dogs, they can't all be good and yet they love feeding 50,60,70 dogs, personally I can,t see the enjoyment in that, it would do my nut in.
  11. Where there,s money there,s corruption.
  12. I believe there may still be a few skipper bred dogs out there but they must surely be thin on the ground by now.
  13. He,s got a not too bad quote but wants to pay it up which does,nt seem possible
  14. Not sure id call it a fact...its certainly a bold statement and an opinion id respect but not agree with personally. Although you won,t PRAY TELL
  15. Yeah Dare your right, chicken and egg answers can hide a multitude of sins, is he to be slated for bringing the dogs into the country in the first place ? Or thanked ?
  16. Not sure id call it a fact...its certainly a bold statement and an opinion id respect but not agree with personally. Yeah but you southern mob from the big smoke never did give the jocks the respect they deserved
  17. Jigsaw I lived out in Oz for quite a few years, owned a few dogs out there and as everyone knows it happens, the money is so big out there that it is,nt Not going to happen, rightly or wrongly it happens.
  18. Is it or is it not possible for a 17 year old to pay his first years car insurance up in instalments ? Thanks for any help/ advice
  19. The chicken or the egg ? I know he liked to claim some of the glory and I suppose why not, he bred them , without that there would,nt have been the dogs that did what they achieved. And achieved they did !
  20. Like him or loathe him, ed Reid produced the best dogs of their breed that Britain, perhaps Europe has ever seen . Fact.
  21. Why would Amy sane person want one, I,ll bet they can't run, have a short life span and basically are good for nought.
