  1. if you wrap a ball of small shot in toilet paper it holds together long enough to clear the forks that was our childhood method of dropping starlings on the wing I think you can get pouches with a small bucket shape in the middle now for firing multiple shots
  2. believe it or not but there was one seen by many people on the a38 near cheddar, quite a few years back there is a petrol station on the junction to the village of shipham and it was in the field opposite seen by all the people pulling into the garage made the news and papers at the time No pictures ? i don,t have any it was years ago when I only had a passing interest, just stored in the back of my mind

  6. can we see the back of the rear pad please
  7. . I make my own fatballs when I have the time but I don't put whole seeds, when the seed's a covered in fat it's hard for them to get a grip on them I blend up a mixture of seeds then add porridge and other bit's and pieces' then roll them unto big balls What binds it together P ? The lard pal. Gotcha ..I'll give that a go later .. I used to make them in coconut shells, drill a hole in the end thread some string through fill with lard and seed mix pop in the fridge then hang them up for the tits when there set
  8. Anyone else? As a nice little bonus to the bird feeding does anyone else shoot rats at night on there feeder, I,m on 3 my son is on 2 at the moment for this season though I,m expecting a fresh wave as the cold comes in, good bit of urban hunting
  9. not for many years I worked in Berkeley power station over 35 years ago so I expect it's changed since then though I still drive past it regular as I have a mate that lives on a boat in sharpness so I usually spend my beer tokens in the dockers club if I,m up there
  10. It's just government taking more rights away from people, if my kids were young I would not even allow them to go to school today as the schools have as much if not more rights than the parents over the kids and it won't stop until the state has the last word in everything we say and do, mine are all big enough to smack me back so it's not really an issue but I still find it very sad day
  11. they also fight to the death with other robins and are so territorial that they sing all night long to alert everyone that it's there patch, so if you here bird song at night it's nearly always a robin, they are also normally the first to start the dawn chorus in summer followed by blackbirds, the rounder a birds eyes the better there night vision this is why robins and blackbirds sing first, as they have the best eye site
  12. if you come this side of the river mate have a look at the three horse shoes in frampton on Severn, it's like walking in someone's house, most evenings the men play guitars and the women sing there is no jukebox or telly just a roaring fire and the landlady makes a pie that has gained nationwide fame it's only £8 but you will struggle to walk if you finish it and to cap it off they sell black rat on draught, I know of an even more spit and sawdust pub further along the Severn near Worcester called the camp house inn there are chickens and peacocks walking around in the bar
  13. . I do see bully,s but not in my garden I cover quite a lot of ground on my walks and normally see one or two pairs a year, but never loads, best bird I get on the feeders is a pair of blackcaps but they only come if we are about to get some really cold weather so make a good weather forecast, I buy mealworms in 20kg bags online, someone mentioned at the start that they are just a husk with no nutrition in them, I soak them in hot water before I feed them and they rehydrate into a full worm it also stops them blowing away in the wind, I had a male sparrow hawk in the tree this week watching th
  14. Lots of reports and some footage coming out of Mississippi at the moment of what appears to be a large black cat, looking at the footage it could be the first black mountain lion caught on film, even some experts are agreeing it's also been heard calling at night adding more weight to the case of it being a puma, this has been another contentious issue which has been argued over for years
  15. I would say your about right mate I buy and sell lots of things and roughly 50percent new value is a fair place to be,
  16. bit bored ? I very much doubt you would pose this question to a room full of strangers so why should you think it's ok from behind your keyboard, I expect amongst your invisible audience there are people that may have had to go through this for many reasons many of them not because they are slags, but correct me if I,m wrong you also like chucking out the odd comment against people's kids that are not all the same, I just took my dogs for a walk because I was bored, much more enjoyable and far less offensive than trying to get a rise from others misfortunes
  17. Anyone used the flir scout tk, looks like quite a good bit of kit for the money £500/£600 I,m thinking of getting one but would like to hear from anyone who has had personal experience before I shell out my shillings, lots of vids on YouTube for anyone interested
  18. The problem with the rich and famous it's impossible for them to leave the system that made them, were as an old peasant like me would just disappear into the woods with my back pack of goodies and pop back up at the end of the show, making less than interesting tv, it's a good insight into the powers of the state but don't be expecting to see many cunning survival skills they rely on modern technology and the state owns most of it

always a revaluation to come out when your career starts to slide down the shitter, these people will say and claim to be anything and everything for 5 minutes of fame, its not the money they want as much as the attention and adulation, she probably went shopping and no one recognised her
  20. Not being funny but that's as cowardly as throwing acid at people, if you ain't willing to stand in front of a man and have a proper row crawl back under your rock and hide, cowardly c**t
  21. I have not read all the answers, but I,m afraid I have had him earmarked for a while I think he is a far more natural heavyweight than aj and will be a dominant force if he is allowed to have the right fights but as the average British boxing fan goes for likeability rather than skill as with Bruno/Lewis early days, were we all got behind a panto horse instead of the real talent for a long time, so aj is enjoying the same wave of popularity and sadly triple D as he's known will struggle to get the recognition he deserves for a long time,
  22. chew valley is a beautiful part of the world but is blighted by being only a couple of miles from the largest council estate in Bristol so it was probably living on the balcony of high rise flat, even Matt Hayes and mick brown had all there gear nicked when they went there to do some filming for there fishing show a few years back
  23. don't know if it's the same thing but I get that on one of my makita chargers when the battery has had it and won't take or hold charge ?
  24. no sorry tried and failed to add a link, if you type chew crocodile into the sun online there is a vid of them catching it, if it's the same one like I said looks a bit bigger in the vid
  25. the army of unskilled low wage workers has been great for the Rich and big business whilst squeezing the working class into a more submissive working environment were they have to take what there given or move over for your cheap foreign counterpart, so no matter what the outcome of the referendum stitch up they will all stay and bring in more and more the eu can only work if and when the poorest member country is equal to the richest , it's how it's set up and it's been moving forward in this direction for 40 years so I would,nt get my hopes up to high
