Absolute pot luck on a trailcam
Greyman replied to S.Maclean's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
I have all different ones from Brownings down to the cheap Chinese ones but it happens on them all, it’s not that the cameras go off but often things that trigger them are moving to fast to be captured, or they are to small and not what you want so birds flying past will trigger but are usually gone by the time the pictures taking likewise moths bats or leaves, I also run my cameras on video which trigggers slower than stills though some of the newer Chinese ones do a photo followed by a video, it’s much easier to see your subject when it’s moving I think and if I,m ever lucky enough to get a -
The density of the populations in places like India are pretty high there is one quite well known area aarey with a known population of 41 leopards in just over 1300 acres of land, I,m looking for one or two in areas at least twice that size, and though many people doubt it the things I,m finding indicate to me they are moving closer to the city,s in England and pets are becoming more regularly taken, we do have vet confirmed killings of dogs and a few good horse attacks also confirmed by vets, normally a sign of a young inexperienced animal as the horse is much to big to be taken but they do

Here you go mate, not just any tits but great tits ???

Just heard on my local radio station that Greggs the bakers have brought out a vegan sausage roll that’s causing a bit of controversy amongst the idiots, even piers Morgan was wading in

It’s more scientific, than exciting mate if I,m honest, everyone wants the perfect picture and I do believe with the cost and quality of remote cameras, drones and thermal getting better we are going to get that, but truth be told there is probably enough scientific evidence without a picture, the final piece of the puzzle is what is called one of the three C,s capture an animal, clear picture or corpse, born will probably understand this and be able to explain more, but we have a mature student at the university that has decided to do his disatation on the toothpit stuff so we get a bit of f

It’s been like that since ww2 and I,ve been mooching in there since I was a child it’s a little oasis I got a big male polecat on one of my cameras here a few weeks back and saw a raven, buzzard and almost stepped on a female roe this morning swapping the SD cards there are thousands of people going about there business totally unaware a few hundred yards away, there is even a guy living in a one room off grid house in there, have a look on the wildlife photo section you can see some of the animals that live in here it’s alive ?

There are cameras all along the perimeter fence as well just inside with motion sensors , it’s good exercise for me and the dogs and I,m also looking for dead animals and feline footprints as I go, I have 9 other cameras in the same wood and it takes me three visits of half a day each to check them all, I actually love it would spend all day every day out in the woods and fields if I never had to earn money??

Trying to work that out myself caught him several times over a month and the marks always there, he has a bald patch on each arse cheek but it’s were his head reaches when he turns and chews so was wondering if he has a lot of ticks and has been using his hind hoof to scratch his side as he does,nt look malnourished -
I thought it was quite well known on here what I,m looking for, I am trying to get a picture of a leopard/puma or lynx living wild in the uk, ??

Think false triggers are par for the course with all trail cams just done three cameras that have been up since the end of November, over a 1000 triggers loads of blanks, tips of tails and ears or just leaves fluttering in the wind i,d say it works out about 1 in 3 triggers capture an image ? -
Jeremy Wade is a bit of a dick mate, would,nt bother rushing to see him even if he was talking on the corner of the street
-
It,s par for the course to loose a few, but as I said this fence is several miles long and I struggle finding the cameras myself and I no were they are ?
-
You have to be quite determined to get in here, that green fence is several miles long and lined with cctv cameras, I walk a few miles cross two deep ravines on fallen trees and climb a steep hill with no paths, to get to the cameras here there are no footpaths nearby and only animal runs like the one he,s following

Prefer a good photo of the living thing myself, but something strangely attractive about taxidermy, the rural science classroom when I was at school was absolutely full of it

Cheers the nearest Aldi is on a council estate about 5 miles away were i grew up so I possibly no the guy, just put a few pics up on the photography section of other animals that use the same path easy to see why he,s there, the camera has been there around 10 months and he,S the first person apart from me that I,ve caught ?
-
Not a problem as I have no right to be here myself, but as I,ve been in this area over 50year and had dogs nearly 40 I recognise most local dog men or there dogs but not this one, looks like a box of ferrets on the shoulder as well, the camera is on the outskirts of Bristol less than 200 yards from the m5 just saying hello if it’s you ??

Just been out and swapped some SD cards over, this website does not allow video to be uploaded and all my cams are set on video so I have to play the video on an old laptop and take stills of the screen on my iPad to upload hence I loose a lot of quality from the original, so please ignore the quality as the originals are very much clearer, but here are just a few pics to highlight the importance of finding a good nature corridor and everything will use it,- 38 replies

The vegan diet also gives us a clear and direct window into how gullible and sheep like humans are as a species, we are running out of space to produce enough cattle without totally deforesting the planet, cows arses produce a shed load of bad gas for the planet, so the powers that be need to steer the vulnerable mass,s away from beef consumption and hey presto a bit of false advertising and the wave of sheeple begins, the only reason not to eat shop bought meat is purely down to the amount of drugs and antibiotics pumped into it during the intense growing programme, if I never had a modern mi

I,m not Darwin, but to me an animal like the domestic cat, that came from the wild to live around fishing ports before moving into our homes have evolved, pandas refuse to evolve and will ultimately bring about there own demise, I may be over simplifying things but that’s how I’m seeing it, Urban fox,s have become 40 percent smaller than there rural relatives, they our adapting and evolving into a subspecies designed to fit in bins and under gates rather than hunting live prey ???
-
A new species of grass snake was discovered on our own tiny island last year, it’s just evolution and if it’s not meant to be the offspring will be sterile, look at how many subspecies of domestic cat and dog we now have, all have evolved from one source, 16 sub species of leopard all evolved to fit in every little niche that nature can throw at them, it’s been happening from day dot, we just seem to have this obsession of categorising and pigeon holing everything today even people

That will have to wait, if you can remove a government through peaceful protest you can then replace it with a government that acts for the people who elected them and not global business at the cost of its people, the undesirables will soon pack up and leave of there own accord if the playing field is made level for all players, it’s years of greed by big businesses and self satisfying polititions that have brought us to were we are now after all would,nt you rush off to another country if they stuck you at the top of the housing list gave you free heath care and government subsidy,s worth m

If your serious about cutting wood it’s got to be sthil or husky really, it’s all about cost repairability and spares availability over a period of time, I still have a big old sthil I got second hand in the 80,S all spares still available over the counter, sorry to here of your loss worse of all in your own garden that’s a real pisser
-
Just a little bit suspect, with very little relevance to actual boxing just like the mcgregor fight
-
I think the point of a peaceful protest is you don’t go round attacking everyone, it also makes the authority,s look even more fearful and wrong when you see the police using extreme tactics on peaceful protestors,
