  1. Actually in this country I can go around shooting voles - not that I've ever tried. It is in fact encouraged to eradicate them. The usual method is to poison them - which I completely disagree with. Poison is cruel and spreads poison through the food chain. Any pest control I do is to encourage the native species by removing non native species. if I lived in that country I'd be shooting more than voles, good luck with whatever you choose to hunt atb At I've been a member on this forum since 2007 and had made quite a few posts (including an intro) but sadly all have disappeared ... for lack of

  3. Why assume so much? To be clear I don't ever shoot live animals without reason "just for the sake of shooting it" and everythig I shoot goes to good use. Not that I need to explain anything but I have a serious Pocket Gopher problem in my yard. I trap but they are near impossible to eradicate. The whole point of this post is to share that I shot a rarely seen, nocturnal, invasive and distructive pest that spends most of its time under ground. Why assume that the carcass didn't go to good use? Your comments don't tell me that you are trolling my post but come on why so negatively judgemental? -
  4. I knew exactly what it was (even if I didn't name it correctly) You are the one without a clue. yeah thats right matey ,im the one without a clue??? You numpty, bit like me sticking up a thread saying look at this golden eagle i shot......oh yeah forgot to say in hertfordshire thats what we call magpies! your error i believe ,not mine for not knowing every species of gopher in your country! Wow ...angry and hostile little troll
  5. Yes it is a .22 AA S410-SL Xtra FAC with adjustable power & Walnut thumbhole stock
  6. Years ago a neighbor shared some Moose sausage with my parents and I. We were talking about how the neighbor took the moose, where was it hit etc. As we were talking about this my Dad asked if he ever re used his bullets? Crazy question until he pulled a complete metal tip 30-06 round out of his mouth...how did it get through the grinder unscathed?

  8. yeh Correct! There are two main species of gopher, the pocket gopher and the Richardsons ground squirrel, both of these species of gopher are found in North America. The gopher is a small squirrel-like rodent which lives in burrows underground.
  9. My mistake calling it a mole. I've always called it that or a Pocket Gopher - Everyone around here calls it a mole. Traps and noise repellents even call them Moles. Technically its not a Mole or a Vole. I didn't consider that you might not have this species in Europe. "Pocket Gophers (Geomys bursarius) commonly called moles, are very destructive burrowing rodents that feed on the roots of vegetation." Pocket gophers spend most of their life underground so I was very surprised to see one and even more surprised to shoot one. I have never heard of that happening before. http://www.strathcona.c
  10. I've out of Air gunning for awhile...all the rifles in storage. Except for the AA. This afternoon I'm looking out from the sundeck and see dirt being flung out of a mole mound. Stroll down the the safe, open it up and take the AA out. Load a mag with JBS Exact .55mm on the way back up and look out to see. Haven't shot the rifle in over a year...shame. Little bugger is still flinging dirt. Wondering if the scope is still on target...power is adjusted at about 50%. Pops his head up...snap. didnt see the impact but thought I saw dirt hit 5 inches up to the right. Did I miss that badly? ....keep l
  11. How many shots at that power do you get ?? All the ones we had in, the FTLBS dropped from shot 1 after @20 shots it was down to 19FTLBS .Cured with a proper reg though I haven't really tested it in that way...I don't trust that the pressure gauge is very accurate and I haven't actually filled so it reads at the 220 BAR max capacity...I have gotten over 30 shots at more than 900fps though...the gauge read about 210 BAR to start and ended up at about 185 - 190BAR if memory serves... I found this interesting though...at about 190BAR when the POI starts to shift downward, I can switch
