I have 2 spaniels and a smithfield, barley grass seeds can be a real problem, as soon as the grass starts going to head they get a full body clip, i have seen the seeds enter between the toes and travel up under the skin and come out 2 or 3 inches up the leg.

Forced to hunt by only feeding them after they have hunted haha.

I've got 14 dogs hunting and sheep/cattle,5 of which are male they are all let of together every night and don't have any problems, they know who is the boss (me).

My dogs get a few a year with mange, i just wash them with malaban wash im not sure if you lot have it over there i am in Australia. Never had to much trouble with the dogs getting it.

I had a parson russell x whippet, only ever used him on foxes he was plenty hard enough, but he didn't push cover aswell as i would have liked, he got in to the habit of hanging round the out side waiting for the flush like a running dog, only problem was he lacked the legs in the open country. I believe most of the litter were the same. I hunt big areas of cover, for some one that does small patches or ferrets he probably would have suited that.

you can nearly read his mind, This show stuff is boring, hurry up and take the photo so we can go hunting. ha ha

You are one of the worse on here ..I thought you were a kid ...then I found out your the same age as me ....The irony in your thread is unbelievable like I said earlier show me one quality post of yours out of 3500 I thought you were a kid..... ha ha thats funnny as f**k

It is the same with all hunting forums the world over, they are either full of for sale adds trying to flog off any thing with hair on it or arguing like f**k with each other about who's dog has a better looking head.....

Theres a litter on the ground here in aus, beagle dog over a leggy pat bitch both fox dogs, ive got 2 pups ordered they are only a couple weeks old at the moment.

Theres always fukcing one!! haha

That sounds about wright, The few i have had have been just bred for stock work so the best herders bred to the best herders they aren't bad at that job, I wouldn't want to be relying on them to catch me a feed though.

My thoughts exactly, he said he had it to the vets and half a dozen posts later theres someone telling him to to visit the vets before he gets a visit for f**k sake.

google tasmanian smithfield and have a look at them.

I had two little hound x's and a staghound, Dad made me a trailer out of a an old clothes dryer shell that i would tow behind my push bike with the hounds in it and the stag would run along beside me. We would hunt all the vacant scrubs and bush around my old home town in Tasmania every weekend. There's no vacant bush there now and ya wouldn't ride a bike down the main street for fear of being run down.

Whats the breeding behind this dog squirell? probably says somewhere in the previous 130 pages but can't be flicked looking lol. Im thinking of puting a parson russell over my springer bitch and that dog of yours is what i am picturing as the result.

Its not the stud but the pups you have to try to imagine. Mammals are not meccano sets that you can just make up. If you are happy with your bitch why are you not thinking of breeding her to another of the same type? If she lacks what you want I would just get another dog. If you really need to go on a forum to ask what type of dog you should use as stud then I suggest you dont bother breeding. Ask yourself why you want to breed a litter of pups in the first place. Well said

A good knife is as good a gift as anything you can give some one i reckon. ive got a folding bunny skinner my father gave me 18 years ago it is hand made by a mate of his and Dad made the leather pouch for it. He gave it to me for my 13th birthday. I treasure it with my life and use it every weekend. -
Feed him morning and night mate. 5 times a day in an ideal world but we are far from that.

Good advice. Rumour is if you update the software versions the collars get locked out. Im not sure if it is true or not i'm to scared to find out with mine. They work fine as they are anyway.
-
What sort of country/ground do you hunt? That will have a lot do with the decision you need to make. What do you need the dogs to do?
-
Your fecked mate. Maybe sell it again on ebay. The US versions still work here in AUS. I'll give ya a hundred bucks for the collar haha.
-
Ya ever heard the saying no feet no horse? Yes a dog can develop bad feet for various reasons. Alot are born with bad conformation as a result of shit breeding. ive had dogs with ugly feet that work fine for 1 OR 2 RUNS but can't handle alot of constant work without pulling up lame.

I believe there was a croc or crocs keeping a good eye on him until he was rescued.
