looks like there is good numbers around you at the mo , we have some nice numbers picking up on the wash now ,had them over the house the last few mornings .. we had about 300 .tried putting in on the stubbles this morning at the back of my house ....... but they soon lifted to move on ... nice pics

what i would say is , if your using a goose guide then make sure they have a good reputation "BASC" do a goose guide booklet make sure you do your home work on them first..... cheap is not always the best way to go.... and there are some cowboys out there that are willing to rob you ....and some great guides out there that will make your trip a good experience .. just my thoughts

my dogs can take them single handed tryed an tested but i slip 2dogs only to catch numbers an i dont mean two or three if its numbers that makes your night then can i reccomend a 22-250,they dont eat as much as a dog and they will never tire!!! most lads run their dogs for sport,to test their dogs week in week out,if they get away good luck to em! having a "guarenteed" dog is all about doing a single handed job consistantly at their quarry whatever it may be,dogs arnt machines and can refuse,jack,spew whatever you want to call it at anytime of life,a dog that works single handed

well i had a great flight this morning plenty of teal ,mallard wigeon , even gadwell plenty of shooting going on all over the marshes on the wash ... the geese came wide of me 3 times but i did see 3 get pulled out further over , i managed to get 7 could have had more if i shot staight at first light ..but i did manage to pull myself together at the end .. 4 mallard 1 gadwell 2 teal just on my way out now the joys of living next to the foreshore ...

well sean, things were looking really special over the weekend with the high winds , then i looked at the weather forecast for the week and it said NNE TO E winds , i then thought even better , i was like a young kid in a sweet shop. when i went down for a reckie this morning and the winds had gone and the wind had not gone round to where it said it was going to , i was a bit disopointed . there has been plenty of duck here for about a month now i.e mallard , teal and a few wigeon .plenty of local greys and canadas. i also see a few shovler and gadwell and 4 pintail this morning .. i

hi mark, sorry i missed this one, it would be possible to do this but if you get rain over night or through the day , then it could bring the water level up and cover the feed and wash it away it does not take alot for ducks to change there feeding patterns especially mallard because they are so greedy .... also you get cattle and sheep on the river banks and they love to eat your feed that you put in for the ducks, i would say try it but monitor if very carefully ,.. also check with the farmers to see if there shooting rights cover the river also the banks too.. because it could belong to

if there is enough natural food there you have no need too feed it, it would be hard to feed it also with the water level keep going up and down because it would wash the feed away and make the water to deep for the ducks to dabble for the food . wigeon love flooded grassland also teal there would be floating grass seed already about wich ducks love .. my advice would be just sit and watch from a good advantage point not just once but a few times. see were the wildfowl flight from and wich part of the flooded area they prefer .. watch how they feed so you can set your decoys out, then pic

have you done any kind of shooting ?? is there any wildfowling clubs in your area ?? if so contact them they might do a young shots course in wildfowling . i know in our club the juniors have to be a SGC holder if you want to join and you have to shoot with an adult over the age of 21 until your 18 .. there is subscriptions for junior members in our club you only pay for your BASC subscriptions .... here is some links... have a look at them to see if there is any young shots courses coming up in your area.... you will have to apply for a postion on the course , they will also
