To be honest Flyn I think it had been an accidental mating and the straw that broke the camels back was the pups,he ended up divorced due to the noise off rearing pups in a council house, seen it happen loads of times with married fellas breeding big litters of lurchers,it puts a lot of stress on a family if you're not prepared for it, I tried to find a stud last year for my bitch but nothing really came of it as I didn't want a one paced saluki type matchdog and there wasn't much else that came forward, my bitch like a few I've had before her put so much pressure on larger stuff that they wou

I would ask anyone who knows of better pups closer to WIRRAL to post on this thread or any info on the pups above,it may save me a long journey, my main thing is bushing and ferreting and would consider an older pup just starting if it helps anybody,WM

I've had fast lurchers over 40yrs and I would never own a whippet/greyhound,I do a bit of everything in the course of a week and they wouldn't last 5 mins on rough terrain etc, seen plenty and most haven't got a brain when it comes to wire or fences of any sort,my old bitch was a lot faster than a whippet greyhound, the white dog was bred off lots of very well known saluki based match dogs, the bitch is an all rounder, granted the pics are not very good, but thats saluki lurchers for you and they all look half starved at best weight,to be honest if I get there and I don't like them (parents and

Socks, I noticed you were using the red disco carrot a lot today, did you find the wires or electricity were giving any interference getting a positive mark, I only use mk 1's, the old grey knocker box and that would play havoc with mine,WM -

Different solar farm Mike, this is the one inside the "TOYOTA" plant, where the RAC rally is based on the private land, WM -
Thats correct mate, they're both buried in my garden, a real shame but not robust enough for the job it seemed, I think buying a pup off 2 hard working lurchers that have put a few years on the clock without major injury is the only way to go, I have been without a lurcher myself now since just before Xmas and I'm sick of seeing things run away with my terriers strung out behind them whilst mooching about but I'm hoping to address that problem this weekend with a trip up to Newcastle to purchase a pup off 2 decent dogs that are aged 6 and 7 respectively, they sound just the ticket for me ,so fi

You can see the pup make the classic mistake of over running the rabbit having to turn back completely on himself, the look of surprise said it all for me,WM "Tom and Fin" they make a good team as they are both laid back

For those that were asking to see the progress of my son TOM's pup, well he's 10 months old now and despite his size and tender age seems to be coming along just fine, typical D/H cross though very laid back and can look a bit single paced at times,he stands 28"TTS and can clear 5 bar gates for fun, loves jumping, we've lamped him a few of times and let him have a couple of runs on his own to see how he'd do and to our surprise he took rabbits easily so over the last few weeks we've let him run a few bolters without a net on to see how he would fair in daytime, its tempting to do more with him bu

I couldn't be happier with him mate and just waiting for either "Miley" or"Roxy" to come in season to put him over them, I've promised to put him over another couple of lads Plummers as well and a "Patt", so he will be a busy boy this year, if you ever want a pup just say the word, he is a great size and always covered in sh*te,I'm still struggling keeping him out of holes at the moment,if my back is turned then off he goes, he kills his fair share of any bag and is a real character, my missus loves him, WM
