  1. I think a touch of hpr type dog in a lurcher can be of great use, mate has a lab type that has a great nose on her. Once she on a scent trail though she's gone which can be a pain at times. Will retrieve in water which is nice. Only downside is keeping the weight off, never known such a hungry dog.
  2. Ventured out my self on Sunday arry. Much like you had a nice morning out we done a few easy burys as my mate is in poor health resulting in 5 rabbits out of 6 burys purse netted 4 and bolted the last for the dogs. Had a laugh when my pal propped him self against a tree while the ferrets done their job one bolted and so he just fell on it. Lol Happy days. The same burys 6 year ago would have given us 20 plus. Plus we rested this land last year, all five rabbits we had were this year's as well.
  3. Dave Platts the man I would go too, he has a very healthy line of deerhound with plenty of fire in them I believe.
  4. Had the same after a long hard run found him lying in a ditch trying to cool off, left him with a cough for about 3 days. I think someone said he had dryed up his lungs ?

A mate served in Ireland he ended up in dog unit red paw, snapper, army attack dogs. Occasionally if someone was unable to feed their dog then someone else had too, and that was when a few people did get bit. So I bet he wasn't the dogs actual handler. Rip the poor sod.
  7. I actually prefer the pastey junkies version to Bowie.
  8. That's a good deal mate I can't do it at the moment redoing my kitchen at home so all my does in that at the moment.
  9. I will be on the market for a few new nets netmaker, just need to go through them all. I know my hemp nets are rotton because I never dryed them out ! We thought we were seeing things when the rabbits started running straight through them lol.
  10. Any ideas where that name originated from netmaker is bourse a place in the country
  11. Yeah I have seen them don't think anyone I know owns one my mates got a tramel net I think its called, but rarely gets used. My mates just had his 20th kemo session so he's f****d at the moment but should be right for Jan then we'll have a go
  12. Don't own any of them poke nets will look them up I got just regular purse nets some a bit bigger than others. Got given a ditch net by an old boy along with a couple of fox nets
  13. What would be a big burrow for you Arry ? We do some 70 or more hole burrows and even then can't get to them all, we just hope for a backnet job or the dogs run them into longnets
  14. If I feed that gain 28 to my dog he goes a bit loopy on it even more so... Mine gets the dry through summer then fresh meat through winter when its about.
  15. Let us know how you get on Arry. A fella I was out with last year had what was like a chippys tool pouch but made especially for purse nets I borrowed it and would recommend if you don't have one spot on it was mate
