  1. Yes mate lead is up high behind ears when walked
  2. Some pictures of this lead set up for anyone that wants to know
  3. Thanks for that kind I thought I had expert help around me But thinking about it
  4. I wish all he wants to do is hunt up. I have put the hours in will walk to heel until he goes into gaze mode then he gone ruled by his heart. This lead set up has stopped him lunging for any and everything. Think I took wrong advice and had him out ferreting at 4 months. I should have trained to good standard then introduced him to work.
  5. This is same just rope lead over head twist and put over muzzle nothing fancy
  6. Anyone else using this set up has sorted mine right out these past few days my shoulder feels much better now. Even stopped him pulling me across the green when he saw Charlie, he don't like it but has made my life easier while lead walking.
  7. Surprised you can keep ferrets didn't think they would be classed as indigenous. Interesting the cats not eating them, must be a different bird over here they are a real pest to all our song birds, and farmers sheep stock particularly during lambing.
  8. Seems very cheap to me mate,I use a fella called Roland if you google Mitzi heads he might be able to help very knowledgeable on these engines. Good luck
  9. Yeah hadn't thought about freezing them that would be to kill any bacteria they might be carrying would it ? They also have had crows and pigeons Not frozen but freshly killed.
  10. Past few weeks my ferrets have been eating magpies they seem to really enjoy them. What do you reckon good or bad
  11. Just gave mine a spray with cold water they loved it.
  12. between 5 and 10 grand I'd say so I think if some travels up and down the country seeking the best blood to put back to his line of dogs makes them worth the money he charges It's only worth what someone's willing to pay I dont think that money's unfair for those that are happy to pay it to some £400 is a good Saturday night lol I've spoke to this Jeff a few times what I didn't like was when he told me he had a waiting list for people after his dogs and that he jumps people in front that he thinks deserves them haha I said if he's got a waiting list why advertise them in cmw he soon dodged

  15. All the time ave been on here you very rarely here guys talking about jeffs stuff wounder why?Just being truthful mate, they are superb all rounders, and as tough as old boots. I saw in this weeks CMW Jeff is using match dog bulldozer to put over one of his bitches could make for some good pups.400 quid is a lot but its a lot of animal and they fill freezers. Saw an add for French bull dog crossed with a poodle for 700 what's that about ?
  16. didn't think Jeff Burrell dogs were line bred I thought they were type bredYeah he has the old stuff He breeds his own outcrosses and if they make the grade then they go in the mix.Though apparently it's getting hard to find coursing grey blood ?
  17. Keep the faith mate a few more years and things will steady up,going on what I have seen. Still no stopping em when the red mist is down though. Don't think there are many line bred that can be called off a Chase. Good luck with your dog mate is it one of Jeff's dogs ?
  18. Good luck with that not sure if being line bred for ? Years has anything to do with it,can't complain as does everything that the wizard said it would. You need thousand acres on your doorstep for this one here, not little pockets of land Criss crossed with roads like I have here. I have thousands of acres of permission but only for winter.
  19. Well I think it was my own making mate, The prey drive is a bit much sometimes when you just want a quick walk through the woods before going out somewhere and all he wants to do is put em up and take em down. Just wish I could switch off the work mode During the summer months.
  20. To be honest this dog has been out every winter from about 5 months young, Has what I consider a high prey drive (pulled Mrs into road trying to catch a stag beetle over night) I wouldn't mind if he wasn't quite so full on all the time. My mates beddy whippet collie Rex is very chilled in comparison he still catches but only when Taz is occupied. In the 3 years of owning this dog he has cost a few quid in vet bills, and I now have a degree in salt water bathing. He line bred Jeff Burrell.
  21. Shocking news of all the dangers a working dog faces :a compost heap ffs, never heard of it before, feel for you fella. Time will heal atb
  22. Had a years subscription repeats its self some what. Got to a point when I only looked at letters page and what's for sale. Only downside to not getting every week is not having fire lighting material.
