  1. I have always used Frontline and never had any problem with that, works great.

    Final

Whin,- in what way has any part of this comp been ruined, because of an entry fee and a prize- are you saying yours will have no money involved then for next year.

Well said Poacher. They have done fantastic Chartpolski and LDR. No two better lads could you meet, and look at the shite being written. Amazing.
  4. Thats a very nice dog indeed Paul, and i'm sure you will soon have her fit. A real good useful cross
  5. Yes SH, end of. Best wishes pal
  6. Whin, everyone knows that, and what do you think they have been trying to do. Telling the "game" that is not so easy though on the so-called good nights, when people can make it. What a crass reply that was. All i see on this thread is bad feeling,- would there be all this if it had gone the other way. I respect both lads here, but am a bit sad at this thread.
  7. Whin, yes hechlers should be in it,- take note of what your saying. A lot of stirring coming from you, why ? SH if everyone knew they were going to have a bad night they would stay at home.
  8. NOT hammered at all,- they'd not go there for nothing. Look at the other heat ran last night,- perfect conditions, 5 - 3 caught. ! Not a bit of bad feeling there.
  9. I'm not going to criticise SH in anyway, yes it was not a good night. Its being made out though that it was only on a housing estate. Did you not also move onto the Ashington area then onto the Pegswood area, both can have good nights on good conditions. Thats the area of the Lurchermania lads. Also did the judge not point out its the rabbits you were running on and not the other things !
  10. Well done Bruce, a difficult night, but it could have gone either way. Any land can be a good night or a shit night, lots of reasons why. Whin, you can't say Chartpolski has no experience, he has probably been doing it longer than most of us. I'd not like neutral ground, i'd prefer someone to really have worked it and know the "hot spots"

    New Knife

Sorry Daveo, my mistake on blade length. i always thought it was a 4in legal limit, but seems its 3in. A lot of people seem confused on this. Anyway some info. http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?5862-3-inches-76-mm-where

    New Knife

Daveo That knife of yours (original photo ) is legal. Its a folder with 4 inch blade. You only need to show good reason to be carrying it, if stopped. Looks a good knife. Take a look at these Opinel. Very much the same knife. http://www.saddler.co.uk/shop.html?cr=3474&cdesc=slimline_opinel_knives_with_pointed_blades
  13. Bruce is probably the best dog Troy will come up against. Good luck to you both lads. Just have a good night.
  14. I was sent over a true working wheaten pup from Ireland, a mating from the Peter Sinead of all Ireland line, crossed with the Teago line. Even as a pup very powerful animal. The Wheatens in the 1930's were used in field trials, and are very easy to train. As game as any dog, and i'd say perfect for a lurcher line, working bigger stuff if need be. I do think somewhere in the past, bull was introduced, but the wheaten has a powerful head anyway. I was warned to give the dog plenty exercise, and build a brick kennel. How right they were if the dog got bored. I had to send this dog back to Ireland
  15. MK3 seems the way forward, but have you seen the price of this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/15ft-ferret-locator-box-and-2-collars_W0QQitemZ160401976913QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET?hash=item2558b3ee51
  16. adamb20 , your in box must be full. Sent you pm
  17. Yes the topic is a bit confusing, but its going to be difficult to generalise on this. Everyone has a good dog in their own eyes, or knows of one.
  18. Just a few years ago, a mate and myself were travelling along the Alston to Stanhope road at 1.30 in the morning after doing some work there,- we had to slow the car down, you couldn't drive on the road, it was just a carpet of rabbits. An average dog would have become a legend that night,- they just froze in the headlights. Never seen so many rabbits in one place.
  19. This is getting into the numbers game,- or do you mean a good lamping dog that can "do it" when there is not much or easy catches. LDR's dog Bruce has to be up there.
  20. That one is the size of a mobile phone, carried in a bag or pocket. Several like that on the market, but not the size of an ID chip.
  21. This would make every other tracking system obsolete, and be worth many millions, Fit it in your car aeriel (spelling ? )etc
  22. I'll have a ticket for that game. What a game that would be. Who cares where the ball is.

    SHOWS

The terrier shows raise money towards equiptment for rescues, and the club. The lurcher shows used to raise money for the club, to pay for some land to work. Also its just a good meeting place for like-minded people, and to show their dogs, some dogs in fantastic condition.
  24. Yep, risky folk from Stanley, my workmates family are from there, John Leighton,- but good dog lads in that area.
