  8. Its a crackin blade, and i prefer micarta, as its so easy to clean with a mild bleach etc.
  9. Its actually much darker and more jade colour than the photos. It wasn't easy to get a "proper" photo, but yes i do like it.
  10. I need to try and get some better photos, but its now finished. It looks so much better than on these photos. I went to my mates "Frenchy" to borrow his sanding set-up, but he reconned my method would take for ever, so he took over and rounded it off. He makes it look so simple and quick. A very nice knife,- Matts Fieldcrafter blade, green fibre liner, and jade micarta. Brass pins
  11. Bumping this up, for a thread on the Earthdog section. Re- The RSPCA

  13. Andy is the best netmaker i have ever seen,- top quality nets, at a good price. Andy and his wife are real nice people too. I'd recommend Andy to anyone.

  15. Pins now fitted. Because its still "liquid" for some time, you must keep turning the knife till the glue goes tacky or the glue will all run one way. Pins roughened up and grooved.
  16. Look at the size of the new building. Why ?
  17. Devcon 2 ton epoxy is also a good glue, that knifemakers use, and Frenchy uses Z epoxy. I just happen to use this type as i use it at work, and its super strong, but slow setting.
  18. Yes Matt, i always glue the sides on without the pins in. I glue one side, let it set, then drill through the pin holes,- then glue on the next side and let that set, and then drill through. When i'm clamping on the other side, i keep an eye on the clamps for a few minutes to watch for any slipping, and just re-clamp if that happens. Its usually ok though when the clamps are in place, but this glue takes 24 hours to set fully, and is still "liquid" for about an hour so i keep an eye on it as i say. I find it easier this method. Yes this is the best bit now,- its starting to look like a kni
  19. Same method as before. Just got the pins to prepare next. I think this will look fine. Also the same type glue.
