  1. Chipping is done as part of the rescue we used to co-run,- so tell me how as its never been managed yet with anyone we know. Who told you that ?
  2. What the hell are you talking about. I'm not talking of calling the dog another name,- its the micro-chip data base thats informed if the dog is sold on.
  3. Chips matter most. The name on that chip can not be changed. The owner has to inform of change of ownership. As for ears coming off,- hardly likely if its lost. Helps stop some stealing the dog or keeping it, if its tattooed as they can't work it, and have it identified,- recognised.
  4. Its a registered number, if your dog is lost. http://www.dog-register.co.uk/find-a-tattooist.html
  5. You might think the dogs picky about food, but no dog will starve with a bowl of food there.
  6. Yes,- my mate had his stolen. Got it back from 250 miles away. Worked hard letting everyone know,- rescues, dog wardens etc. They had tried to work the dog, but it was a one man dog and wouldn't go back to them. It was found and handed to a dog warden, who had heard of it. My own pup 6months old, was missing for a week, but with plenty of posters out and lots of leg-work we got him back. I'd ALWAYS get the dog micro-chipped, and ear tattooed. Its the dogs only way of saying where its from.
  7. You may be right about the dye, looking at the leather. I will get a photo when its done.
  8. No photos yet, i'm on a new pc with Windows 8 on it, and i'm still getting used to that. Thanks riohog, i got some advice just now off "Frenchy". I will re-do it tomorrow. Gaffer,- no terrier will get away from that leather.
  9. Just seen another recent thread about leather, so a little of leather types. Anyone used Buffalo leather before. I usually just use standard 3 or 4mm veg tanned leather, but was recently given some buffalo leather, its about 5mm, but WHAT A JOB i'm having working with it. Its very tough and difficult to bend and hold in place. Its a knife sheath im doing.

    Parvo Reported

Message sent in by Diane this morning: "Parvo outbreak in Stanley and a death in Blaydon. Reported by a Stanley vet." The major symptoms associated with canine Parvovirus infection include severe, bloody diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, vomiting, and severe weight loss. Please remember that this horribly distressing virus affects dogs of ANY age, but those that are young, old or suffering from other illnesses are particularly vulnerable. The only real protection against it, is up to date vaccinations. If you are concerned about a pet please call the practice for advice on 0191 4561
