  1. ive got a few of dh books and mags they are top notch, they are from a man that has and still walks the walk.he tells it how it is, his writings are from years of experience in the field, he has a go at the corrupt goverment, stands up for terrier and lurcher work, even after his set back, he is back out with his mates and his dogs, WHO COULD FILL THE MANS SHOES, THE ANSWER IS NO ONE, as for the edrd mag not being very good, dh said the mag belongs to its readers, so if your not happy get writings articles for him to publish,
  2. hi stormrider, im new to the bullx also, had collie types before, both were hancoxs breeding and both of them were very good at finding stuff in cover, and both were fairly obedient around sheep, but the bullx i have is better at finding and will go through any cover at all to get her prize, she has put up stuff and hunted it like a fox hound, if she comes across aline she gets her head down and she will work it, she will hedge like a terrier, if she stops along a hedge or what ever, i just wait and watch her go. from what ive seen she knocks spots off the collies ive had, down side is she is
  3. good going mark, it can be done if there are plenty to go at, once took 12 from one field, it was pissin down and i called it a night, with the old lamp and motor bike battery plus rabbits i was a heavy slog back to the van,
  4. nice head on that dog slam, looks a strong type.
  5. ok thanks i,ll order a mixed load of chicken and other bits,
  6. just wondering if anyone could put me right on landywoods chicken backs-carcasess, you can buy 4 blocks for a pound, or 45pence for a pound of chicken wings, which is the best deal, wings or backs, anyone feed the backs-carcasess, would there be to much bone in the carcasess to feed every day, any info would be appreciated befor the new freezer arrives thanks.
  7. thanks for that sjm, you made my day,
  8. was walking the dogs on abit of ground out brum way the other day and for a long time now i fancied a mooch over the road, theres some large wooded area that looks ok, so i put it on google earth and it rearly does look good, anyone else use google to check out new spots.
  9. seen abit on the news today, the trapper was using hazel nuts as bait in a live catch trap , there were three nuts on a thread hanging at the back of the cage , good idea i thought. i think he said he had caught over 200.
  10. hold him off untill the autumn at least, let him watch and listen to another dog working, then let him have alittle look in, if you try him now he may bump into a vixen with cubs, can you guarantee to do the whole job with a novice, or he may bump into summut else and then the shit could hit the fan, but its your dog and your time youve put in,
  11. is it the one that writes in the cw, april the 9th mag is a belter, had a dog that never missed a fox, ffs Don't read CMW regularly, so not seen the article, but if they say they had a dog that never missed a fox, more than likely! you must get the issue its worth every PENNY,duck weed in a running river in mid november when winters were bitter cold, and fox snapping at inches from face , its a must, lmfao, sounds a tailor made article for the cmw. Any chance of scanning it on the net? would love to read it. Nice to see how a proper dog works sorry no scanner, my work mate buys it,
