  1. i have a cocker bitch at home 3 yrs old who is surprisingly feisty for a cocker, not aggressive but very much stands her ground to all and sundry, how do you reckon the two will fair ? any tips on introduction etc just about made up my mind, only the wife to get it past although she did say no probs last night and shall we pick her up saturday !!!!
  2. not mine yet, i have a chance of having her, might pick her up tomorrow, just cant decide if she is what i want i want a terrier for a pet but one that i can take ratting and rabbiting aswell, and maybe on the odd day that i don't take the cocker then shooting / beating too, she's a good looking dog but no idea of her background, she's in a rescue centre at the moment, i have been keeping my eye open for a JRT long leg type but she has come up and i am 50/50 at the moment - any help in the decision making would be appreciated !!!!
  3. as the title says, all comments welcome good or bad
  4. were you saying 'rag it' or 'sh*g it' on the vid no wonder you feel the poor fella needs a bit of (short) leg over if you keep telling him to sh8g a football nice looking dog though, good luck !
  5. try and handle a few different guns before you buy, i have never had one, always fancied one but on my last shopping trip i ended up with a HW100 and to be fair its the best airgun i have, only one i am using at the moment one thing to consider is the huge air cylinder / shot capacity you will have to get it topped up using a dive bottle pr buy one anyways your choice
  6. i have a ultra i just plug in and pump !
  7. i have a similar problem, my cocker bitch is 3 yrs old and has just decided 'course' rabbits, nothing else, just rabbits, not sure what to do, any help greatfully received we have chickens at home and when we got them we introduced them into the garden one no command and that was that, she has never bothered them
  8. make sure the bleed valve is closed tightly, push in the adaptor, start pumping it should fairly quickly reach a point at which it appears that the needle isn't moving as the pressure equalises between the cylinder and the pump, carry on pumping and slowly the needle will move up, pump upto required pressure, slowly release the bleed valve and remove the adaptor if you cannot get any pressure into the system then (not sure with the ultra) you may have let the pressure drop in the gun air cylinder too low to hold the valve closed when you pump and effectively you then pump forever without i
  9. not a fan personally, i think there are a few post on here ref domes v flats etc domes all they way everytime for me
  10. the first ultra i had was a single shot and loved it bought the multishot and absolutely hated it

  12. as the title says, what is anyone getting at the moment ? just weighed a bit it and told its at £500/t, was getting a lot more than that not long ago
  13. well done pal, its nice to see something positive on here where everyone seems to agree .......................
  14. grin and bear it, she should stop at some point, although my cocker took 8 months !!!!!!
  15. in order to be old and wise you have to be young and foolish.................. i nearly shot my foot once while i was in the landy, i had one up the spout picked up the gun must have forgot to put the safety on and psssssssss one .22 calibre lead pellet inbedded into 1/4 inch rubber defender front passenger mat................don't think i have ever forgotten the safety since glad everything turned out ok, as said it could've been a lot worse.
  16. as far as i am concerned its a headshot only on anything apart from close range rats
  17. ''over and out'' does it for me if i am particularly pleased it might get a kerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrchang !!
  18. cheers guys, it took some doing but i am pretty pleased with the outcome, i will put up a couple more in a week or so when it is finally finished and has a sling and swivels on it to, hopefully should last a little while longer now
  19. this has taken quite a while, the air rifle was in fairly good nick some minor problems with the metal but it was the wood that needed a lift. i tripped the stock and refinished it using birchwood casey gun oil, it possibly needs one more coat but i am leaving it a week or two and then finally will need the finishing oil applying the metalwork has all been re-blued i don't think it looks bad for a 30 yr old rifle.
  20. domed, forget all the others apart from maybe flatheads for close range, 15 yds ish
  21. Cheers for that bud, muchly appreciated! ATB, Grim. i have just used their stock oil, i have refinished a 30 yr old Diana air rifle for a project (i will put up some pics in the next few days) the oil is great gives a fantastic finish but as said before patience is the key nice tx200, i am after one myself but waiting for the pennies to build up first
  22. i have a cocker that has had trouble with colitis, treatment that was advised by a pal was just water and no food for 24 hours, then small ammounts of rice and boiled chicken for the next day or so, it worked for me but i am no a vet just passing on experience !
