Good program for the bbc, kind of balances out with the one show. On the subject of the sealyhams, £900 for a pup with no chance of breeding won't help it none with working dog men . An £700 for a Sealyham /russel. Not in it for the money ???

Nice one FD. Your dogs ? Can't say which is worse, chicken shit or the tip for giving the dog an odour!!!!

Back to clearing the ditches out on the shoot. Still plenty of rats about , just a little harder to get at in the deep ditches.

Fleece vet bed , washes well an lasts years, no mess either.

Had a spaniel x that suffered bad with hair loss, vets clueless but were eager for dosh, Nothing worked. Then tried camarosa and although it's a messy affair , the problem was sorted for good. Bit of a ball ache keeping to the instructions but well worth the bother.

New pot of "glue" pabs !

I think to be called a Blagger is a worse insult .

What type do you favour Blaise , breed wise . Have you lost many to ground. As FD said wind can be a problem , but the jacket will sort that out an cap on the ground for the nettles. Embankments have caused me problems in the past and though I've lost dogs, it's never been because of no collar. Back in the day watched old boys use a metal pigeon corn bin with the bottom out. Always keeping the chest in whilst tunnelling into a steep bank .Dangled by my feet many times as a kid to check direction of the terrier. They only kept Russell's too, reckoned fell types were to bold for the big boy

Never a question of the dog going to ground without a collar, but there is the option on moderate depth earths to not turn to it for help but instead try a bit of fieldcraft first , and if you struggle just flick the switch an hey presto. As Morton said , some places have great depth and a collar would be of no use. But you could still hear a terrier baying. My old man chastised me in my young days for putting a dog to ground with a collar on , his mindset was the dog hooking up on roots, old habits die hard as they say. Electric devices make things easy but not always better imo. I also

A go to ground / false den, with a caged animal would be illegal in GB. And the outcome would be a jail sentence. You have more freedom in the USA hunting wise. But even if I lived there would not entertain a go to ground. In my opinion a young terrier would learn more being entered in the chosen quarry's natural habitat. However many minds many methods. Good hunting rippem atb th

Why not enter to rats naturally in their own environment , a go to ground in GB !!!! Go to jail more like. How about some pics of your quarry species rippem. Atb Th.

Two dogs in one hole is not the same as double dogging. One is to assist the recovery of a lost dog, The other is to assist the capture by two inadequate dogs. As stated, in the past there has been bad practices and no doubt the future also. Quite a lot has changed in terriers since I was a boy , but not the dogs there was good and bad then as there is now. The onset of locators has allowed mute terriers to be classed as decent workers and bred from. Wouldn't of happened in the past . Men were less tolerant of bullshit also. Voice is just as important now as it was then imo. Goo

In what post did I say I've a dislike for you or Plummers ?. Never had the opportunity to view one at work. You have also had dogs a few years and I have no doubt in my mind that you would give credible , positive input .to any thread, Without invention , exaggeration You are good with the edit buttons....tess .lamp..+ ferreting. I'm no digger either more an all rounder really... I would rather put this to bed once and for all personally. And if we both keep to the truth , there will be no repeat of this crap again. I hunted with John when I was a kid he was never a digging partner, and like you can't lie straight in bed. I take it John is the digger that changed to Plummers ....lol. No need to carry on for me , I'm no troll .as for you , carry on with your self proclamation ego trip an staged photo shoots. And I'll carry on working my shit dogs Th.

Never meant a Blood test , the true test of work. How else would you know if it's lacking. Rabbits are a quarry not a test for a terrier surely.
-
Have no interest in hunting rabbits with terriers, that's why I keep lurchers and ferrets. As for a trip out, give your head a wobble man !!!!!!!!! Don't believe everything you hear and half of what you see !!! One of your quotes I believe. You could answer me a question though, How do you justify using an untested puppy as a stud dog ?

Puppy had most of the greys, wouldn't like to see her tackle a big one yet. Never seen a hare all day.
