Recommendations For 500Quid
PeskyWabbits replied to Wardy's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I agree with the above. All my guns have been second hand, save for an ASI Magnum and a Webley Vulcan Custom from the days before the Internet. Most dealers will give a warranty, in my locality it is 1 month or 3 months. I have bought from dealers and private and never been stung. Private usually means a back garden test which is fine. The airgun market is bouyant at the moment, I have www.freeads.co.uk and http://www.gunstar.co.uk/ on my Favourites, as well as our much loved THL and pretty much all the guns are quality kit. I am always looking, even though I have more than enough. The -
Yes, that is true. There is a good review here And also on YouTube More a fun gun these days than the old Innova that had a lot of coverage in the old Airgun Worlds. I think the build quality and materials are dubious. You are probably better off looking for a second hand Sharp or you may be disappointed.

Not quite the same, I can't add videos to the 'What are you listening to at the moment ' thread - just links. I am guessing this is browser settings, but I don't have this problem on a Land Rover forum I am on and it is the same browser. Any tips would be welcome. i know it isn't just me as others just put links on

Welcome. It is a good atmosphere here. Is it an optical illusion? your little dog has a human face!

Eley Wasos are proper pants now. I moved to H&N Field Target Trophy in my Airsporter.

Hello I have been offered one of these for £150 I don't really need it but it could be an opportunity to upgrade my older Hawke scope. I may have to do some selling to fund it as I don't usually operate in this price range So is it any good or is it just a name? And I have seen Vipers advertised as MTC, why the different name? Thanks a lot PeskyW

Calibres, How And Why Did They Choose Them?
PeskyWabbits replied to PeskyWabbits's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Another thing. Many people don't seem to understand where to put the decimal point. We are see these funny adverts with 1.77 or 2.2 calibre. Just think how big these pellets would be! -
Calibres, How And Why Did They Choose Them?

A good post Simon. Now would Mr Whitworth have decided on .177 or would it have been 4.5 mm? It just seems too coincidental to be imperial then have 5,5 following it. But thank you for the definition -

What I mean is, why pick .177/4.5 and .22/5.5, why not round it up at the beginning? Even if you look at imperial measurements, surely no one is going to say, 'this looks the right size, oh that's .177, that'll do' Everything seems so random. And if you follow the metric path: 4.5mm not just 4 or just 5, same as 5.5mm wasn't 5 or 6. Then get further up the scale with 9mm, why not 10mm. Go on you academics, or enthusiasts, why? -
This is my daily driver. It has some old car issues but starts and goes. I have it on a classic insurance policy. It is a lovely drive.

Rude Pig I have a very rude pig. He has been rude since he was 2 months old and now at 4 months old he isn't getting any better. It started when he would mount the others. Then it was mounting and jiggling. now he has his willy out. It can be disturbing for visitors and I am not keen myself. 'Shaggy will be going earlier than the others but is he likely to carry board taint or is he just eager?

Saddlebacks, wonderful. I had these on my Britains Ltd farm

Had A Cracking Day At The Show
PeskyWabbits replied to bigmac 97kt's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Blimey! My friends and I arrived at 11am and left at 4.30pm. We didn't cover all of it - I am not known for my sense of direction, so no surprise that I couldn't find the muzzle loading shooting range though I did find their stand. I bought a floppy cammo hat, a Jack Hargreaves book and a pie and cup of tea. I met all sorts of very interesting people. Good to finally meet you Jimmy and Ethan. Prices for kit didn't seem any cheaper than normal, second hand air rifles seemed 'very Gunstar' in pricing. Shot guns and cartridge guns though.. £60 to £250,000. I was overwhelmed by the whole ex -
I'm setting off from near Halifax at 9.30am on Saturday. Should take us about an hour.

They already have ghe tooling, as they have made them before They just need the impetus So it could be a minimum order thing but these would be trade prices So the order amount we are aware of was 48 But that included tooling up This time it would be materials and setting up plus profit margin

Do we know that AA make their own stocks? Potentially this could be Minnelli, so I would be inclined to go directly to them Sometimes there are minimum quantities but there are enough lefties here, or maybe someone entrepreneurial

Right, with the help of Naproxen, I am back on it. Fatty was asleep so no breaks this time. here we go. Old spring out Blimey! Look at all that grease. Old spring, new spring. Not looking forward to squeezing that one in. Oh No! She's awake. -
Well, I think I am a bit small scale but I am tempted to do some butchering night school. Afterall, it's only like cutting up a body....... that's a joke. 10 members in this year's Pig Club plus me. All pigs back to full health. Fingers crossed.

Wood ash is good for the soil or compost. Coal ash is for paths only, where you want to keep the weeds at bay - kills plants.

More Poorly Pigs Two different ones. One was throwing up and the other, sluggish like the last one and going back to the hut. I got the vet out immediately this time. You read that vomiting is followed by death but the vet wasn't concerned. He said it was guzzling its food too quickly and sure enough it was running around and feeding again soon after. Bulimic pigs, who'd have thought? The other took more effort. 3 doses of anti biotic - no change. One dose of Norodine, and it started coming round. Now, you wouldn't be able to tell which pigs have been poorly. Me however. I i

That is good to know. Mine won't be with me after 10 months. I don't like to keep them when the weather worsens. Really I am nervous having them around when it is bonfire night with all the night time disturbances. It is like the blitz for a week.
-
Yes they are great. I wondered about getting some sheep but all that bum, teeth, shearing, feet palaver. Goats are sheep plus escaping. Cows, too big. Alpacas, tall sheep but too expensive and would need beefier fencing. Pigs are easier than hens, and so much fun. Mine are 8 weeks old now. They are still on Sow & Weaner feed but can cope with chopped carrots as well. I got the price of feed down to £6.10 a sack for Farmgate Sow & Weaner. I bought 20 sacks but only draw off as I need them.

Poorly Pig I noticed one of my gilts (girls) was a bit sluggish on Thursday morning, teatime she seemed a bit better. Friday morning sluggish again and maybe some staining at the rear but I couldn't be sure. Friday night, back in with the pack and though she was eating, she kept wandering off. Saturday morning. Blood staining round her anus and blood in her poo. Then she went and lay in the pig ark. None of the other pigs is displaying ill feeling. So. Rang the vet and this really nice, early twenties, girl came. Took piggy's temperature, only slightly raised. No signs of fighting

no mate your enviroment officer is wrong.it to do with when they reach sexual maturity.i'll bore you with the details when i've got more time. Hmm. At least with boars, they grow quicker than gilts. I will send mine in when they are about right in weight but not getting too jiggy with the females.
