  1. I will be having another go tonight.Hopefully there will be a repeat of the success. I couldn't get to the body because of the fence but the carcass has now gone.
  2. My neighbour has two collies that bark all day and night. I bought one of those ultrasonic ones. I should've wired it to the mains because although they didn't like it, it didn't stop them and the batteries kept running flat Tried Environmental Health too. They did send a man up but they decided not to take action. Incredibly, you do get used to them. A bit like a whining fridge, bugs the hell out of you but then it you don't notice it. I would've gone round and beaten them to a bloody pulp in the first few weeks though.
  3. Now I have ridiculed myself to the world, I have put the scope on the right way round, it fits much better too.
  4. What selling an HW100? But isn't it the best gun ever made according to some on here? I am trying to fly the springer flag. Trying to hold back the tide.
  5. Aargh. Sportsmatch High Mounts and had to fit the scope in a shonky way because of my eyes and the relief needed. Apologies for not ironing the sheet.
  6. This is my Weaver 1.5x1 (inch) made in USA vintage scope. Shown with the original mounts but I can't get these to fit the Pro Sport so am having to compromise with what I have got.
  7. This is my night shooting rig: Air Arms Pro Sport, Hawke Nite Eye 6.5-20 x 50, T20 Torch on a bike handlebar type mount. Way too powerful for shooting at 12 feet.
  8. Did you sand off the chequering? The wood grain looks totally different now. Smashing
  9. Apologies This wasn't an attack on anyone here, I was having a rant against society in general. I got a bit carried away.
  10. This thread is about Wonky Donkey http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/336961-wonky-donkey/ I would be very tempted to send one of my guns off but I prefer to be independent, no matter how long it takes to get round to it. If you do something yourself, you get the satisfaction and a better understanding, plus it can really open up that enthusiasm for projects. Also, none of it is very hard, like most things it is care and attention I am not a Gruffalo Griff but I do like to play as I think everyone should. This generation is a disappointment. Look at the previous generations of
  11. The scope is way too powerful. Usually it is a bunny gun. Going to get one of those Airmax 2-7x32 that Rez has when the big bills go away. I have a vintage Weaver 1.5x25 that I will try in the meantime. The layout of the run is more for the ducks than me shooting rats.
  12. Ok, maybe I exaggerate. I was sat on a chair in the entrance to the duck run and rats were running past my feet. A bit unnerving. They ignored my pig fat in a pellet tin and the peanut butter pasted around my zero point. Instead they fed from the Celebrations tub where I put mixed grain, topped up with water for the ducks. I was zeroed to 15, 25, 35 yards on the mil dot Hawke Nite Eye 6.5 - 20 x 50 AO IR, but these critters were 6 feet away. I missed my first shot but reloaded and got this one at about 12 feet from my chair. Air Arms Pro Sport .22 RWS Superfield
  13. Update I bought a Mole Valley Dual Power energizer, so I can use mains or leisure battery. I used armoured 2.5 mm cable run from my garage to the mid point shed then electrical points in the shed and a length of coax to the fence. I got it all safety checked. I opted for two runs of galv wire round 16 plastic poles and insulated blocks on wooden posts in the corners. Pigs have been ordered.
  14. I mended my wellies using Wilkinsons Contact Adhesive Took 3 days for the glue to fully dry but I have been ankle deep in water and none has got through. Thank goodness I can stop using carrier bag liners, it was getting expensive.
  15. That's a result. Hope the repair goes smoothly. At least the bits to undo are mostly inside the car so should come apart easily enough.
  16. I went ratting last night for the medicinal benefits. No success but I saw a couple. I think washing my ducks had disturbed them too much. The two I saw, I could hear them pushing through the wire to get into the duck run, then they whizzed down a pallet that gives a bit of shelter to the ducks. Then it was like race n chase. They wouldn't keep still, then vanished behind a bath. I am going to put some white melamine down the sides of the run, so the rats show up better. And move those pallets. I am using a .22 Pro Sport with a red T20 torch.
  17. 'pretty gash' ooer The rear allen bolt on the maxi grip is the arrestor pin. Your rear mount should butt up against this. Is it the mount or the scope that is moving? BSA Lightnings can give a severe recoil, though this can be reduced by tuning the gun.
  18. This is Evil Bantam in her dungarees. She crowed like a cockerel and chased the other hens around and pecked at them. Downright horrible. and in normal guise. Probably not a bantam either.
  19. This is a thrush banging on the windows, not the girl who has forgotten her key. It started yesterday. It sits on the garden side and pecks at the glass. The cat even went to investigate and it wasn't spooked. My PC is upstairs and it bangs on the office window as well. Bizarre?
  20. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/49891-white-spots-on-rabbit-livers-what-is-it/ There is an earlier thread on here discussing the phenomena, sadly no pictures. I am on my second bout of Man Flu in 5 weeks. This time the Dr gave me a 2 week sick note, to make sure I clear it from my system. Work aren't impressed. At least I've stopped coughing up melted cheese now. The mild winter hasn't killed off the usual bacteria
  21. http://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2014/11/feinwerkbau-sport-air-rifle-part-7/ There is a strip down guide here, but look at the date, 2014? The Yanks must have got it first.
  22. Is this the one? The trigger guard makes it look like you can shoot it with gloves on.
  23. This is the run and why I let them out. It is getting a bit chicken sick, despite bringing in squares of turf. Last year I covered the ground with cut long grass/hay - I don't use lawnmower cuttings as that is too dense - but when it got wet I just had a large compost heap. I have a re-seeded 'quarantine run' behind them, they are too stupid to work out how to get there though, or just want to go to cause mayhem next door. Quarantine Run is just behind them, here
