That's a nice spot Rez. Nice clear pictures and nice gun. Does the missus like rabbit?
  2. I saved the innards from the last rabbit, so I will left you know how it goes.
  3. They're good guns, you will be well pleased with it and you will keep it for years (until you swap it for a PCP, then later you will buy another).
  4. Cos I live on my own and I have no choice
  5. I would do as asked, there is probably some history. Just don't wear your cowboy outfit, here in West Yorkshire the police guns are trigger happy, any excuse. All that pent up frustration from all the hours training, they're desperate to give it a go.
  6. I haven't caught any yet, not tried. I do have a big fishing net that I sometimes use for errant chickens. I will be having a go. I have a big dog cage i can use as a Larsen Trap, with a couple of bungees. A bodging we will go...
  7. I was bringing in the washing this afternoon and spotted a wood pigeon strutting through the grass in the old pig paddock, so I went back to the house to fetch KT. This is where the shot was taken from, through the mesh sides This is what I got. I don't think it would have been as successful with my Pro Sport
  8. She is bit unusual looking and smells like a cricket bat
  9. Good results Mr Teapot. What kind of traps are those?
  10. Is it normal to name your gun? I have crossed to the darkside. Had this a month now and this is first blood. I have been having a big clearout so got money in the kitty. I went to the local gun shop and this was at the right price. Not bad condition though the sling swivels, the pilot hole was as big as the swivel screw, so they had pulled straight out - fixed using the Araldite equivalent of Plastic Padding. Not sure yet if I am a convert to the ways of PCP, it feels a bit dead compared to a spring gun. Don't think my spring guns are redundant yet... Not had a chance to te
  11. Exactly, these are the ones we're trying to defend. It just didn't occur to me.
  12. Well... i have been struggling with magpies getting into the duck run and breaking eggs and was worried about my ducklings. So I shot 4. Anyway they got wise and were very difficult to get close to. So more recently they have been spatting with a couple of thrushes nesting in a neighbours conifer. So I thought I would draw them out and got a couple of decoys. For a comedy moment, I put them in plant pots in my conservatory. Thursday night, big bang. Found this outside the door. So, be careful how you store your guns, ammo and decoys.
  13. Tonight's tea What makes the hobby (more) expensive, is the compulsion to buy more equipment. One gun is all you need. If you must, get a spare, but don't get it in the other calibre. Now where is my aim point for this distance/angle?
  14. They are pretty straightforward to fit. Some cars are easier than others though. My 1995 Peugeot 306 sedan, the light wires were all the same colour, so it took a while with the multimeter. Sometimes you can get a kit that just plugs into a connector on the loom. Mine was an official Peugeot kit and you still had to splice in. Fitting the bar was really easy though. All the holes lined up. I swapped that car for a 1998 Vauxhall Frontera. That was much easier in all respects (shame the car was a lemon). The bar went straight on and adding the wiring was really easy. I think the bar was about
  15. Interestingly Stealthy, my local RFD has reached a similar decision after battling with Daystate over a gun which, if I remember correctly, only left the shop a few days earlier and Daystate didn't find fault on their behalf. This went on for weeks. One thing I don't understand, why would a successful English company, capable of high standing in both UK and worldwide markets, be prepared to loose everything by poor QC and p1ss off most of the customers who have spent hard earned cash and a lot of it, to the point, like Mitch and many others, that they will never buy from that company again
  16. I have had 13 airguns. Only two bought new - (ASI) Gamo Magnum and Webley Vulcan Custom. Both long gone. The good thing about second hand is that they are already run in. I think I have spent about £1500 on hardware, if that. Since I was about 14. I have had 29 cars though. Only one new one and I still have that after 20 years. Got 4 at mo' but I only pay £200 for my daily drivers these days. I have a bit of a third world lifestyle. No TV, home grown veg and meat - ducks, hens, pigs. Stove and oil for heating. No readymeals, everything done from scratch. Shooting is a great sport. outside

  19. I could sell them to Game of Thrones fans. Maybe?
  20. Is it just me, or isn't everyone thinking this? Apparently a Chinese owned, Chinese run, nuclear power station is good for Britain Maybe we should invite Russia to build one in the north, and Iran to put one in Wales.
  21. Maybe this is how I make my millions
  22. I wondered about this stuff as well. When I am on Rat Watch, it is as if I am being attacked by a maniac with a pin. Avon Skin So Soft is well known amongst cyclists and outdoor types but for hunters, won't our quarry be able to smell it? Especially rats at 10 yards. Citrus smells are known to keep cats off your garden, would these repellents also shy away rats? When I was a lad, we used to put vinegar in our hair if we were outside to keep the midges away. But its tears before bedtime if it runs into your eyes.
  23. These ones get so close, I could snatch them out of the air
  24. Barry that sounds terrific. Just watching them in the wild is fascinating. I bet they are as good as parrots or myna birds
